Lecturers – 5 Posts
Lecturers (5 positions: 4 full-time and 1 part-time) – Ref: (ZU/10/Adv/24/2024)
Minimum Qualification and Experience
- PhD/Doctorate in International Relations and Diplomacy or equivalent degree qualification in a relevant area from a recognised/ accredited university.
- Master of Arts in International Relations and Diplomacy degree or a related area from a recognized/accredited university.
- Bachelor of Arts in International Relations and Diplomacy degree or in a relevant field from a recognized/accredited University.
- At least three years of teaching/research experience at the University level as a Lecturer/Research Fellow.
- A minimum of twenty-four (24) equivalent publication points as a Lecturer/Senior Research Fellow of which sixteen (16) should be from refereed journal articles.
- Attended and contributed at academic conferences, seminars and workshops.
- Evidence of being a member of a relevant professional body.
Duties and Responsibilities
- The purpose of these positions is to carry out teaching roles, student and staff mentorship, research and related activities among other duties in line with the University’s overall goal.
- To oversee the design and development of curricula, and develop and deliver a range of programmes of study, sometimes for entirely new courses at various levels.
- To exercise leadership in teaching, research and grant writing activities.
- To spearhead the development of practical modules or manuals in line with developed curricula.
- Providing mentorship and career guidance to students and junior faculty.
- Participate in the development, administration and marking of examinations and other assessments represent the University in various fora as may be necessary.
Senior Lecturer – 4 Posts
Senior Lecturer (4 positions: 2 full-time and 2 part-time) – Ref: (ZU/10/Adv/23/2024)
Minimum Qualification and Experience
- PhD/Doctorate in International Relations and Diplomacy or equivalent degree qualification in a relevant area from a recognised/ accredited university.
- Master of Arts in International Relations and Diplomacy degree or a related area from a recognized/accredited university.
- Bachelor of Arts in International Relations and Diplomacy degree or in a relevant field from a recognized/accredited University.
- At least three years of teaching/research experience at the university level as a Lecturer/Research Fellow.
- A minimum of thirty-two (32 equivalent publication points as a Lecturer/Senior Research Fellow of which twenty-four (24) should be from refereed journal articles.
- Supervised at least two (2) postgraduate students.
- Attracted research funds as a Lecturer/ Research Fellow.
- Attended and contributed at academic conferences, seminars and workshops.
- Evidence of being a member of a relevant professional body.
- Evidence of leadership (administrative experience, active participation in departmental /school/university/national/international activities).

Associate Professor (1 position: Full time): Ref: (ZU/10/Adv/22/2024)
Minimum Qualification and Experience
- PhD/Doctorate in International Relations and Diplomacy or equivalent degree qualification in a relevant area from a recognised/ accredited university.
- Master of Arts in International Relations and Diplomacy degree or a related area from a recognized/accredited university.
- Bachelor of Arts in International Relations and Diplomacy degree or in a relevant field from a recognized/accredited University.
- At least three years of teaching/research experience at the University level as a Senior Lecturer.
- A minimum of forty-eight (48) equivalent publication points as a Senior Lecturer/Senior Research Fellow of which thirty-two (32) should be from refereed journal articles.
- Supervised at least four (2) postgraduate students including (1) doctoral student to the completion
- Attracted research funds as a Senior Lecturer/Senior Research Fellow
- Attended and contributed at academic conferences, seminars and workshops
- Evidence of being a member of a relevant professional body
- Evidence of leadership (administrative experience, active participation in departmental /school/university/national/international activities).
