Project-Retention Officers

SPECIFIC TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Describe the study to women attending MNCH and conduct screening with facility clients to assess interest in and eligibility for participation in the research study.
  • Contacting each study participant enrolled
  • Ensuring that the study participants receive adequate intervention and are compliant to the study procedures.
  • Provide an effective personalized and individual support service to the study participants.
  • Prepare daily clinic summaries of women screened and recruited into the study.
  • Defaulter tracing.

Essential requirements:

  • Diploma in social work/Community Health/ counselling psychology·
  • Experience working in a comprehensive care/PMTCT clinic.
  • Interest in maternal, child and neonatal health
  • At least two years research experience
  • Fully Remote Companies

Study Nurse- Homa Bay

Job Purpose
The study nurse will be responsible for recruiting and enrolling participants into the study in the selected facilities in Homabay. He/she will directly report to the assistant study coordinator.
Responsibilities and Requirements

  • Counselling the study participant on pre-exposure prophylaxis
  • Identifying the study participants to be enrolled in the study
  • Collect data per approved Standard Operating Procedures and input into Android tablet system
  • Conduct rapid HIV testing for study participants
  • Counsel women on oral HIV testing, and provide instructions for oral HIV testing
  • Counsel women on partner HIV testing, with oral HIV test kit or refer partners to clinic
  • Counsel women on HIV and prevention of mother-to-child HIV transmission
  • Submit twice-weekly summaries of recruitment and enrollment into the study to the study coordinator
  • Participate in twice-weekly phone call with PI and rest of study staff

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills Required

  • Must be registered by the Nursing Council of Kenya
  • Must have a Diploma in Kenya Registered Nursing/Midwifery (KRN/M) or Kenya Registered Community Health Nursing(KRCHN)
  • Must have at least one year experience in research post-internship
  • Must have computer skills (Attach computer training certificate)
  • Excellent communication skills: Must be able to communicate to the study participants well and with PI via email and Zoom
  • Must be trained in Human Subjects Protection (Attach certificate)
  • Excellent skills with mobile technology
  • Language skills: fluency in English, Kiswahili, and Luo
  • Team player with ability to work closely with other study staff at the site

Administrative assistant

Roles and responsibilities

  • Assisting the project administrators in processing of staff payroll and their benefits. Following up to ensure statutory deductions are submitted on a timely basis to the relevant bodies and updated as required.
  • Preparation of monthly invoices and financial reports of the project expenditures to the donors and Kenyatta National Hospital grants office.
  • Facilitating tracking and reconciliation of the project expenditures and submission to the finance department for reimbursement.
  • Ensure that project petty cash is available at all times and its management is according to the set guidelines by the Kenyatta National Hospital Finance Department.
  • Assisting in staff performance evaluation, promotion and termination activities as required.
  • Facilitating the processing and keeping track of all the staff contracts and the project subcontract.
  • Maintain personnel files i.e. CVs, appointment letters, contracts, leave records etc.
  • Liaise with the Supply Chain and Procurement office for procurement of office, lab and clinic supplies for the project as required.
  • Participate in bi-weekly Project meetings to update the team on administration matters as well as listen to any matters arising from the field
  • Prepare for submission and maintain records of correspondence with institutional review boards, ethical review committees, donors and collaborators.
  • Perform day-to-day management of project team and address any team issues promptly.
  • Maintaining an updated asset register for the project.
  • Other duties as they may be assigned by the Program Manager/Principal Investigator.

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills Required

  • Must have a Diploma in either Project Management, Business management, Business Administration, Economics, or Finance & Accounting, Procurement & supply chain management, human resource management.
  • Must be trained in computer skills
  • Must have at least 1 year experience in Project Administration.
  • Must have at least 1 year experience in Research administration.
  • Proficient in MS Office – Word, Excel, Power Point as well as, tracking, document management, and retention tools.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required. Ability to build relationships and rapport with teams, staff, and vendors and navigate challenging or unexpected circumstances with creativity, calm, and positivity.
