A-Level Mathematics/ Physics Teacher

Job Summary

  • We are looking for an A-level mathematics/Physics Teacher to join our highly performing team of educators. As a teacher, you will be responsible for providing students with a safe and inclusive learning environment by designing and implementing appropriate learning instructions and activities that align with the curriculum and manage overall student discipline.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervise the behaviour of students in the classroom, on school grounds, and on educational trips;
  • Conduct daily inspection of the learners to ensure that they do not bring illegal substances school;
  • Plan and develop an engaging, course of study in the classroom, adhere to educational best practices and school curriculum guidelines;
  • Design and deliver individual lesson plans in one or more academic, technical, or vocational subjects using a variety of teaching techniques and appealing to various learning styles;
  • Preparation of schemes of work for the term aligned to the syllabus and submit to the HOD, Quality Assurance and Head of School for approval;
  • Preparation of syllabus coverage reports and submit them to the HODs for review;
  • Prepare materials for lessons, assignments, and tests; evaluate, correct, and grade student performance;
  • Discuss academic difficulties or behavioural problems with students as they arise, escalate when further intervention is required;
  • Monitor students’ progress throughout the year and evaluate preparedness for transition to the next level as appropriate;
  • Communicate progress and concerns with tact and professionalism to parents and, as appropriate, other faculty, staff, and/or Head of School;
  • Build and maintain positive relationship with leaners, parents and colleagues;
  • Enforce safety and security standards for students, staff, and visitors;
  • Maintain required paperwork for individual student files, attendance and incident reports, and other necessary records;
  • Monitors halls, study periods, and lunchrooms with other faculty and staff;
  • Participates in faculty meetings, educational conferences, in-service opportunities, workshops, and other training seminars;
  • Ensure that the learners adhere to the school rules and regulations;
  • Ensure that the learners have to well-groomed and presentable;
  • Be the link between the learners, school management and the parents on matters communication, discipline and academics;
  • Timely communication of the school calendar and upcoming events to the relevant stakeholders;
  • Organize and coordinate class excursions, events and trips;
  • Participate in the coordination and coaching of learners in extra-curricular activities;
  • Consultation with parents on cases of indiscipline and deterioration of performance so as to ensure the due process is followed before a decision or recommendation is arrived; and
  • Any other responsibilities assigned to the jobholder by the supervisor from time to time

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education (Science) from a recognized institution.
  • Must be registered with Teacher Service Commission (TSC), and Professional development qualifications in Edexcel /CAIE as applies.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience in handling A-Level.

Head Chef

Job Summary

  • The overall purpose of this job is to oversee the kitchen operations and manage the food preparation and service program at the schools and consistently producing healthy and nutritious meals for students, staff and ensuring that the food service program meets all necessary health and safety standards.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Plan and prepare daily meals for students and staff according to established menus, dietary restrictions, and nutritional guidelines;
  • Monitor food quality and ensure that all meals meet or exceed health and safety standards;
  • Maintain accurate inventory of food and supplies, order ingredients as needed, and manage food budget effectively;
  • Ensure that all kitchen equipment are properly maintained and in good working condition;
  • Train, supervise, and evaluate kitchen staff, ensuring that all staff members follow proper food handling procedures and sanitation guidelines;
  • Work with school administrators to plan menus that meet the needs of students with specific dietary needs, such as allergies or religious restrictions;
  • Manage kitchen waste, including composting and recycling
  • Closely collaborate with school administration to plan and coordinate food service during events and activities when required.

Qualifications

  • Diploma in Food and Beverage or Food Production from a recognized institution
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience working in a similar position preferably in a learning institution
  • Must have a food handlers certificate from the relevant regulatory institution

School Matron

Job Summary

  • The overall purpose of this job is to offer pastoral guidance and oversee the pupils residing in the boarding section to guarantee their safety, good health, and overall well-being. Additionally, the role supervises the general maintenance and upkeep of the boarding house, as well as promoting discipline and order within the dormitories.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure that the school adheres to health and safety regulations by maintaining cleanliness, orderliness and a conducive environment for the students living in the boarding house;
  • Assist and guide students residing in the boarding house, by ensuring their safety and well-being while helping them adjust to boarding life;
  • Conduct weekly meetings with students to educate them on hygiene regulations, train them on how to make their beds, and emphasize the importance of time management;
  • Prepare and submit a requisition for cleaning supplies to the Matron for approval to maintain adequate flow of supplies and ensuring proper storage;
  • Enforce discipline within the boarding facilities by ensuring that students comply with school rules and regulations and take appropriate disciplinary measures when necessary;
  • Communicate with the dorm matron, support staff, and teachers regarding the welfare of students and any concerns that may arise;
  • Assist the administration in evaluating the needs of students residing in the boarding house and offer recommendations;
  • Maintain an inventory of all equipment, furniture, cleaning supplies or fixtures in the boarding house and report any faults;
  • Maintain general cleanliness around the boarding section, offices, staffrooms, and corridors;
  • Ensure the general health and well-being of students residing in the boarding house and provide appropriate medical attention when needed in liaison with the school nurse;
  • Ensure that students wake up on time, dress appropriately in school attire, and leave the boarding house on time;
  • Ensure tidiness in the boarding house by making sure clean clothes are neatly folded and put away and that there are no items left underneath the beds;
  • Handle emergencies such as medical issues, fire alarms, and other student safety concerns that arise in the boarding house;
  • Attend health, safety, and sanitation training sessions organized by the school in order to maintain and uphold the school’s health and safety standards;
  • Any other responsibilities assigned to the job holder by the supervisor from time to time.

Qualifications

  • Diploma in Housekeeping or Institutional Management from a recognized Institution
  • Minimum of 3 years as a Matron in a Learning Institution
