Study Coordinator – Migori
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, manage, and supervise the day-to-day operations of the study ;
- Supervise the study teams (Research Assistants and Data Analyst) to ensure that the study is conducted according to the study protocol and GCP;
- Oversee recruitment, retentions, and data collection activities ;
- Travel to field sites to ensure the smooth running of study activities;
- Develop and manage standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all study procedures
- Maintain Study Master File
- Prepare and submit study documents to ethics and regulatory committees, including protocol
- Organise and lead in-person and Zoom meetings regarding research updates, result.
Vacancy Requirements:
- A Master’s Degree in Public Health, Nursing, Psychology, or Clinical Research Mandatory
- Prior experience with at least one of the following: adolescents, STI/HIV prevention, school-based, and/or livelihood interventions Mandatory

Assistant Study Coordinator – Migori or Kisumu
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with the programs Finance manager/KEMRI supply chain officers to establish contracts and Pricing and ensuring proper maintenance and serving as primary liaison with utilities and local Government agencies, such as fire, police, health and safety agencies
- Manage relationships with key operations vendors
- Prepare Monthly Procurement plan with Departmental heads
- Review Supplies Requisition
- Facilitate Quotation requests from the approved vendor list
- Coordinate Quotation review and analysis with members of the procurement committee
- Raise Local Purchase orders (LPOs) to vendors
- Follow up to ensure timely delivery of supplies
- Review the accuracy of Delivery Notes and Goods Received Note.
- Review and approve all operational invoices and ensure they are submitted for payment
- Assist in facilitating training & conferences
- Manage the transport schedule for the vehicles
- Oversee Maintenance/Services of all assets including vehicles and Motorcycles
- Manage contracts & agreements between the Program & other service providers
- Assist in booking air travels for the principal investigator and other staff Assets/Inventory Management (Take lead)
- Develop operations systems by determining product handling and storage requirements; develop, implement, enforce, and evaluate policies and procedures; develop processes for receiving product, equipment utilization,
- Inventory management and shipping
- Work closely with inventory managers to perform analysis of inventory and ensure utilization of project inventory effectively, purchasing the right equipment, maintaining solid inventory data, and reduce sub-rental expenses
- Maintain and update the asset register
- Ensure labelling of assets
- Perform quarterly asset verification on the site
- Attend to other duties as required

Data Manager – Migori or Kisumu
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop data entry forms and surveys using REDCap to ensure efficient and accurate data collection.
- Implement branching logic, skip patterns, and validation checks within REDCap to optimize data quality.
- Evaluating study data for protocol compliance
- Develop and implement data management plans to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and integrity.
- Oversee the entire data life cycle, including data collection, cleaning, validation and storage, to ensure the accuracy and completeness of study data.
- Supervising verification of data, check and clean raw data as soon as it is uploaded or entered by field staff
- Collaborate with study team members to establish and enforce data management protocols and standards.
- Establish and maintain a secure and organized database for longitudinal cohort study data.
- Regularly update and back up the database, ensuring data security and compliance with relevant regulations.
- Creating and maintaining SOPs related to the management project data
- Performing data query management, to identify and address discrepancies or errors promptly.
- Monitoring study data to ensure the quality and completeness of the data submitted
- Generating Quality Control reports for review and correction, as well as a variety of other reports as required.
- Implement data quality assurance protocols to maintain the highest standards of data integrity.
- Perform weekly summary reports for quality monitoring
- Perform statistical analyses to derive meaningful insights from the longitudinal data.
- Generate reports and visualizations to communicate findings to the research team.
- Creating and managing data dictionaries, including updating and checking stored information related to the study, updating datasets and associated data dictionaries, as well as maintaining a record of data and variable updates (version control)
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of data management processes, including data dictionaries, coding procedures, and variable definitions and updates.

Agriculture Trainer Coordinator – Kisumu or Migori
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement the agricultural components of Vijana Shamba and Mama Shamba studies
- Develop the content for the agriculture training manual (both studies) –
- Develop the training manual and schedules
- Develop video, print, audio, and in-person training materials with support from the Study Manager and Demonstration Farm Trainers
- Work with other partners to incorporate appropriate training materials into the training (print, video, audio, in-person, etc)
- Demonstration Farms
- Identify demonstration farm locations communities (Mama Shamba)
- Oversee the demonstration farms
- Leasing and protection (Mama Shamba)
- Designing, preparation, composting, and planting (including seedbed production) with support from the farm trainers and study participants (both studies)
- Ensure equitable distribution of vegetables to pregnant women (Mama Shamba) and seedlings (both studies) from the model farms as they are preparing their farms at home
- Develop a guided demonstration farm training schedule and harvesting regime (Mama Shamba)
- Supervision of Farm Trainers at each demonstration farm and supportive supervision for participants
- Oversee the training of the farm trainers to ensure a thorough understanding of the theory and practice of vegetable production to improve participants’ health and nutrition and provide income for their families.
- Oversee training of the intervention participants by the farm trainers at the demonstration farms
Vacancy Requirements:
- Diploma in Agriculture/Horticulture/Agronomy Mandatory
- Four (4) years of relevant hands-on experience working/training smallholder farmers Mandatory
- Excellent knowledge of all aspects of agronomy related to the cultivation Mandatory
