- This is the entry grade for this cadre. An officer at this level will be deployed in a human resource management unit and will handle simple tasks of analytical nature. The officer may be required to implement certain decisions within the existing rules, regulations and procedures. He/she will also be expected to supervise Human Resource Management Assistants, Clerical Officers and other supportive staff.
Requirements for appointment
- At least C- in Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education.
- Diploma in Human Resource Management/Records Management or its equivalent from a recognized institution.

Records Management Officer II – 1 Position

Duties and responsibilities
This is the entry and training grade for degree holders. An officer at this level may be deployed in a ministry/ Department headquarters, provincial or District registry. Specific duties and responsibilities will include ensuring security of file and documents; renewing file covers ensuring proper handling of documents, pending correspondences and bring-ups; receiving and dispatching letters and maintaining related registers; preparing disposal schedules and disposing dead files in accordance with relevant Government regulations.

- Be in a possession of a Bachelors degree in information Science/ Records Management or any of the social Sciences from a recognized institution.

Records Management Officer III – (3 Posts)

- The officer will work under supervision of a more senior officer. Specific duties and responsibilities will include:
- Receiving, sorting, opening, filling, minuting and distribution of mail;

- Guiding on files disposal.

- Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) mean grade C plain from the Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) or equivalent from a recognized institution; and

Office Administrative Assistant III (5 Posts)

- Taking oral dictation;

Requirements for Appointment
- Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education mean grade C- (minus) with at least C (plain) in English or Kiswahili Language or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
- Business Education Single and Group Certificates (BES & GC) from the Kenya National Examinations Council in the following subjects:
- Typewriting II (minimum 40 w.p.m)/Computerized Document Processing II;
- Business English I/ Communication I;
- Office Practice I;
- Commerce I; OR Craft Certificate in Secretarial Studies from the Kenya National Examinations Council; and

Fire Officer II

Duties and Responsibilities
- This is the entry and training grade to the cadre. An officer at this level will be on the job training and will work under the supervision of an experienced officer.
- Duties and responsibilities will entail;
- Preparation of drawings for siting of fire appliances.
- Inspection of buildings for assessing fire hazards and risks and ensuring availability of emergency exits and adequacy of means of escape in public buildings.
- Repair and maintenance of fire-fighting equipment’s.
Requirements for appointment
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following disciplines: Electrical/Mechanical/Chemical/Mechatronics Engineering from a recognized institution; and
- Been registered by Engineers Registration Board of Kenya as a Graduate Engineer.
- First Aid Certificate course lasting not less than one (1) week from St. John’s Ambulance or Kenya Institute of Highway and Building Technology (KIHBT) or any other recognized institution.
- Terms of Service: Three (3) Year Contract.
Inspector (Fire Services)

Specific duties will involve the inspection, repair and maintenance of fire installations in public buildings, hospitals and institutions.

- Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical/Chemical Engineering from a recognized institution; and
- First Aid Certificate course lasting not less than one (1) week from St. John’s Ambulance or Kenya Institute of Highway and Building Technology (KIHBT) or any other recognized institution.

Fireman III (6 Posts)

- Duties and Responsibilities will entail: simple maintenance of fire-fighting appliances and assisting during emergency cases.
Requirements for Appointment
For appointment to this grade, the candidate must:
- Have Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education mean grade ‘D’ or its equivalent and relevant qualification;
- Fireman II Certificate from a recognized Fire service Training School/institution.
- First Aid Certificate course lasting not less than one (1) week from St. John’s Ambulance or Kenya Institute of Highways and Building Technology (KIHBT) or any other recognized institution;
- Be physically fit; and
- Be certified medically fit by a Government doctor.
- Terms of Service: Three (3) Year Contract.
Driver (Fire Engine)

Duties and Responsibilities
- Making routine daily checks and inspection of the fire engine to ensure it is in sound mechanical condition;
- Ensuring general routine maintenance of the fire engine and equipment in line with the manufacturer’s manual / specifications;
- Reporting any malfunctioning of the vehicle/fire engine systems;
- Driving/operating the fire engine as authorize;
- Ensuring security and safety of the fire engine on and off the road;
- Maintenance of work tickets for vehicle/fire engine assigned;
- Responding to fire and emergency calls in order to prevent and/or minimize loss of life, property or injury;
- Safely and efficiently driving the fire engine to the scene of fire in response to an emergency;
- Operating the fire engine pumps and other fire/rescue apparatus safely and efficiently;
- Perform any other duty as may be assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements for Appointment
- Be in possession of Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education Mean Grade D (Plain)/O-level Education;
- Possess a valid driving license from current endorsement(s);
- Passed Suitability test certificate for Drivers Grade III conducted by ministry of works and public works;
- Passed Occupational trade test III/II/I for Drivers conducted by ministry of works and public works;
- Have a minimum three (3) years proven experience in fire engine/firefighting equipment operation will be an added advantage;
- Be physically and medically fit as certified by a Government Doctor;
- A certificate course in firefighting/ fire rescue from a recognized institution will be an added advantage;
- Possession of emergency vehicle operator compliance certificate;
- Possess a valid certificate of good conduct;
- A first aid certificate course lasting not less than a week from Kenya Institute of Highways and Building Technology, St. John Ambulance or any other recognized institution;
- Possession of a Grade III and above certificate in vehicle mechanics/maintenance will be an added advantage;
- Former members of the disciplined forces and the NYS who have undergone firefighting training or ex-fire fighters/fire engine operators will have an added advantage.

This is the entry and training grade for university graduates. The officer will undergo an induction in the reception function. Work at this level will entail:-

- Have good communication skills.

Support Staff (Drivers) (2 Posts)

Duties and Responsibilities
- Rescue diving for underwater casualties;
- Provide Security to tourist within county water falls;
- Act as tour guide within water falls;
- Provide ground work service in the water falls around the tourist site;
- Search and recovery diving for bodies;

- Search and rescue of landslide and mudslide victims;

Requirements for Appointment

Kericho County Enterprise Board Members (4 Posts)

Duties and Responsibilities
The Board shall perform the following:
- Provide overall management and oversight of the fund;

Legal Counsel (3 Posts)

Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervision of all Legal Counsel in the Directorate, undertaking litigation and arbitration on behalf of the County;
- Organize, coordinate and manage administrative and legal functions of the Office;
- Drafting and reviewing legal documents, local and international contracts/ agreements, drafting bills and subsidiary legislation;
- Coordinate training of all Legal Counsel in the Directorate;
- Ensuring compliance with the national values and principles of good governance and public service set out in article 10 and article 232 of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010, and initiating and undertaking research on emerging legal issues and preparing Legal opinions and briefs;
- Shall, on the instructions of the county attorney/Solicitor general, represent the county executive in court or in any other legal proceedings to which the county executive is a party, other than criminal proceedings;
Requirements for Appointment
- Holder of Bachelors of Laws (LLB) from a recognized university;
- Master’s degree in law or any other social science from a recognized institution will be an added advantage;
- Hold Post graduate diploma in Law from the Council of Legal Education;
- A minimum of Seven (7) years’ relevant experience, three (3) years of which must have been in a senior management level in an institution either in public or private sector;

- Disseminating business information to the business community;
- Facilitating international trade promotion activities through trade fairs and exhibitions; and
- Management of day to day operations of the county Market and attend to Traders Complaint

Municipal Manager- 1 Post

Duties and Responsibilities.
- The Municipal Manager shall be answerable to the Municipal Board.
Duties and responsibilities will include:
- Implementing the decisions and functions of the board;
- Overseeing the affairs of the municipality;
- Developing and adopting policies, plans, strategies and programme;
- Formulating and implementing an integrated development plan;
- Maintaining a comprehensive database and information system of the Administration and providing public access thereto upon payment of a nominal fee to be determined by the board;
- Ensuring preparation and submission of the municipal annual budget estimates to the relevant County Treasury for consideration and submission to the County Assembly for approval as part of the annual County Appropriation Bill;
- Establish, implement and monitor performance management systems; and
- Perform such other functions as may be delegated by the municipal board.
