Manager IT Infrastructure
Principle Accountabilities
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES and PERCENTAGE (%) TIME SPENT
- Manage and set priorities for design, maintenance, development and evaluation of all infrastructure systems, including LAN, WAN, Internet, Intranet, Backups and other infrastructure-related systems (30%)
- To provide management oversight for the Data center Operations to ensure projects, incidents, problems, service requests, and escalations are dealt with according to a defined set of policies, processes, procedures, and SLAs. (30%)
- Manage Datacenter and Network Service Agreements, budgets, and Supplier Contracts. (20%)
- Effectiveness of integration of ICT network strategy or blueprint with the bank’s business direction (10%)
- Effectiveness of the network and data center security system (policy, controls and infrastructure) with regard to protection against exposure to and impact of risks associated with data loss, corruption, and/or unauthorized access (10%)
MAIN ACTIVITIES
- Provide support to Local and wide-area network users within multi-service platforms
- Monitor the system performance of the core network, routers, and WAN links to ensure optimum efficiency.
- Reviews IT infrastructure policies regularly to ensure compliance with guidelines
- Reviews network configuration and plans cost-effective upgrades to keep up with changing technology, growth of the bank, and needs of the bank’s components;
- Build a Network architectural framework that is applicable throughout the organization
- Evaluation and selection of new Networking technology to support new products and services such as Smart Cards, ATMs, Electronic Banking, Mobile banking, etc. for the bank
- directs and supervises the work of personnel and/or contractors assigned to the department in terms of network equipment and software installation, systems support and maintenance, and organizes prompt network support by assigning the available technical resources while exercising quality assurance functions;
- Develop, maintain, and Review SLAs with external vendors that provide the Bank with solutions and ensure that they are able to deliver the SLA the Bank has agreed to.
- Specification, selection, and procurement of infrastructure hardware and software
- Protect and enhance the life of IT assets of the Bank, including hardware maintenance
- Manage a team of outsourced Support vendors based on both head office and regional offices for support of the bank’s hardware platform
- Coordinate outsourced vendors for PCs, Network equipment, and UPS systems and require regular maintenance to be carried out as appropriate.
- Work closely with vendors to ensure an up-to-date inventory of the bank’s equipment is kept and maintained
- Coordinate and work closely with the bank’s Property administration to ensure proper storage and disposal of IT equipment after it is declared obsolete.
Key Competencies and Skills
Technical competencies
- Knowledge of Cloud (preferably Azure) Linux/AIX, Unix, CISCO, Microsoft, Server hardware, Firewall administration
- In-depth knowledge of Active Directory (Design, Security and Administration)
- In-depth knowledge of Messaging (MS Exchange, Archiving, Unified Communications)
- Excellent project management skills

Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; ITIL Foundation, Microsoft MCSE, Cisco CCNA and CCDA, Huawei HCNA, Azure Certification; and Linux
Experience:
- Six years’ experience in network and server infrastructure support in medium- to large-sized organizations
- Working experience in a bank or other financial services organization would be an added advantage.
- Experience in vendor management is critical

Principle Accountabilities
- Achieve growth of the branch asset and liability book to ensure the growth of the branch and increase profits.
- Oversee the operations of the branch to ensure compliance with laid down policies and procedures.
- Directing, motivating, and developing staff so as to ensure a branch succession plan for branch continuity is in place.
- Appraising and reviewing staff performance so that branch strategies are accomplished.

Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience
Education:
- A University degree in a business-related field.
- Relevant professional qualifications, such as AKIB
- A Master’s degree in a business-related field will be an added advantage.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years experience in management within the Banking industry, specifically Branch Management experience.
