GSE Maintenance Planner (H10)
Brief Description
- Responsible for the safe and cost-effective deployment and implementation of an effective maintenance plan for all Kenya Airways Ground handling equipment in NBO and MBA Stations.
Detailed Description
Policies and Procedures:
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, policies, processes, procedures, organization standards and local procedures is achieved so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
Safety, Quality & Environment:
- Promote and embrace a positive safety culture, healthy, secure and cost-effective operations for Kenya Airways and ensure compliance with the relevant industry /legislative requirements and company procedures.
- Identify and report hazards, near misses, incidents and accidents.
Day-to-Day Operations:
- Develop an effective maintenance plan for all ground support equipment, vehicles, properties and facilities for effective service delivery.
- Develop and maintain an effective inventory of all KQ equipment, vehicles and facilities.
- Liaise with respective maintenance controllers / Team leaders to ensure the effective implementation of the Maintenance plan.
- Ensure3rd party contracted maintenance complies with the developed maintenance plan as per the executed service contracts for effective service delivery.
- Liaise with supply chain to ensure the availability of materials and spare parts in accordance with the maintenance requirement.
- Ensure effective usage of the maintenance system by all the staff within the maintenance division.
- Report the maintenance status of all the GSE in Kenya Stations from time to time and advise all the maintenance personnel of any new maintenance requirements/bulletins/systems e.t.c.
- Adhere to KQ WAY principals and best practices.
Job Requirements
- Higher National Diploma (HND) in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or related discipline OR Ordinary Diploma in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
- 3 years maintenance experience (with a Higher national Diploma) OR 5 years’ experience (with Ordinary Diploma).

Navigation & Infrastructure Engineer
Brief Description
- Together, decode, interpret, and provide aeronautical and flight planning information to ensure safe and efficient operation of all Kenya Airways flights.
Detailed Description
- Gather, decode, interpret, provide, and advise aeronautical information to ensure sufficient information for the safe operation of all flights.
- Verify and recommend for approval user charges invoices in our route network to ensure correct billing and appropriate follow-up on undercharges/ overcharges.
- Conduct quality audits, inspections and survey of destinations, alternates, and routes, so as to maintain corporate quality safety and security.
- Study and communicate new and future industry developments in regard to navigation and infrastructure and their impact on the company to ensure competence and compliance in good time of Current and future air navigation systems.
- Continuously review routes in the flight planning system.
- Generate, verify, and provide FMC Navigation and Terrain (EGPWS) databases for each AIRAC cycle for all aircraft for scheduled and non-scheduled flights.
- Ensure the flight planning database is updated with the current navigation costs and aircraft navigation and communication specifications for the entire route network.
- Ensure implementation of safety, security, and emergency standards at all times.

Baggage Services Team Leader (H08)
Brief Description
- To ensure and maintain a healthy, safe, Secure and working environment, in compliance with the relevant industry regulatory and legislative requirements, company procedures, regulatory authorities and requirement of the customer airlines.
Detailed Description
- Maintain awareness and brief all staff with regards to occupational/operational safety and adhere to standard procedures. This should include third party contractor’s staff.
- Pre-plan for adequate manpower and equipment as per workload and their effective deployment.
- Ensure bags are sorted and handled according to the airline Service Level Agreement.
- Ensure serviceability of all equipment at the sorting area, prompt reporting/recording of faults and follow up to ensure continuous operations.
- Ensure accounting and reconciliation of all bags at the sorting area.
- Constantly monitor staff to prevent baggage theft or pilferage and report any deficiency.
- Trouble-shoots and liaises with BRS staff in case of problems with scanners or bags.
- Ensure that interline transfer bags are accounted for and transferred timely to ensure On Time Performance.
