Senior Officer Credit Risk Analyst
The core job function is review, analysis and appraisal of customer credit applications for loans and advances using CAMPARI analysis model and to make recommendations to the approving authority. This will involve review of submitted documentation including but not limited to customer KYC documents, bank statements, audited and management accounts, management risk, contracts where applicable as well as prevailing business and economic environment.
The job holder will report functionally to Credit Risk Manager.
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Evaluation of a customer’s credit risk and determining their ability to successfully service the requested facility on time.
- Preparation of a detailed credit proposal in the Bank’s approved format detailing the credit risk analysis of the customer/ borrower.
- Ensure 100% compliance to the credit policy, Central Bank of Kenya regulations, Microfinance Act and the Country’s legal framework.
- Highlight and mitigate any exceptions to the credit policy and regulatory guidelines with compelling rationale to the approving authority.
- Ensure incorporation of guidelines from the Central Bank of Kenya Prudential Guidelines as banking best practice to all credit analysis.
- Ensure efficient credit analysis customer support to Business Development teams through timely and coherent feedback within approved SLAs and TAT’s.
- Carry out customer visits during analysis stage randomly or on need basis to familiarize with the borrower’s business, environment and operating environment.
- Deliver quality credit proposals that are free of errors, flowing and coherent language to ensure appraisal and approval turnaround time is adhered to.
- Interrogate and conduct background due diligence on all information submitted by business teams and customers as well as data on the specific business and external operating environment to corroborate each other. And adhere to policy.
- Make independent analysis and judgment of credit cases.
- Carry out quarterly post disbursement visits for loans
- Perform any other duty assigned by supervisor from time to time.
KEY COMPETENCIES, QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in a business course from an accredited university.
- 3-4 years cumulative work experience in a busy commercial bank or microfinance bank with a strong bias in Credit Analysis
- Credit Analysis accreditation from a recognized professional institution will be an added advantage.
- Working knowledge of Trade Finance Operations will be an added advantage
- Proficiency in computer packages – Ms Word, Ms Excel and Ms Power point
- Attention to detail, accuracy and diligence & analytical skilllsStrong interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Strong negotiation and problem solving skills
- Ability to work under pressure.
Senior Officer Credit Administration
To maintain the quality of credit facilities advanced by ensuring credit documentation is enforceable, the bank’s interests in collateral held are secured and borrowers meet their contractual obligations as stipulated in the loan contracts.
The job holder will report functionally to Credit Administration Manager.
JOB DESCRIPTION
- To ensure end to end perfection of approved applications (including but not limited to credit applications)
- To ensure full compliance as per approved conditions of sanction while ensuring compliance with credit policies and procedures.
- Authorization of loans/disbursements, overdrafts, credit limits, letters of credit and Bank guarantee in the Core banking system as per laid down SLA/TAT and credit policies and procedures.
- Execution of all security withdrawal and substitution applications and also setting up of a system of lodgment and withdrawal of Securities report
- Preparation of various management reports i.e. PAR Report ,Lipa na Mpesa status reports, daily loan disbursement, pending disbursement report, Letter of offer status report and post disbursement reports
- Ensuring upfront and accurate collection of fees / LACE, Insurance premiums (Credit life & Collateral Insurance).
- Management of loan files after disbursement and also regular update and also maintenance of the asset register
- Preparation of daily and monthly CRB updates, issuing of pre-listing and post-listing notices as per laid down CBK guidelines.
- Engaging clients in all NTSA and MPSR matters through e-citizen and TIMS platforms including but not limited to; motor vehicle search, registration and transfers, discharge of vehicles, registration and deregistration of movable assets (Chattel Mortgage)
- Ensure prompt payment of outstanding fees due to valuation, tracking and legal processes to the allocated service providers
- Ensure prompt execution of loan closures, change of dates and rescheduling.
- Perform any other duty assigned by supervisor from time to time.

Officer Credit Administration
The overall purpose is to carry out post approval Credit Administration activities. The job holder will report functionally to Credit Administration Manager.
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Preparing offer letters for review by Manager-Credit Administration and other relevant signatories.
- Loan booking and posting of transactions in the core banking system and review of daily movement register for all transactions done.
- Ensuring that loans are booked as per the approved terms i.e. amounts , interest rates and repayment period etc. and initiate corrective action where required.
- Maintaining a diary in the system for disbursements pending perfection of securities and ensure follow up by the relevant Relationship officer for the perfection of such securities.
- Maintaining database of offer letter issued to the branches.
- Preparations of notification letters to dealers for asset finance loans and preparation of letters of undertaking for buy off loans.
- Perform any other duty assigned by supervisor from time to time.

Officer – Trade Finance Back Office
The overall purpose of this role is to ensure that all trade finance contracts are issued according to Bank’s credit policies and procedures. This involves ensuring that all trade finance contracts are secured, within the mandates as spelled out in the Bank’s credit policies and procedures.
The job holder will report functionally to Senior Manager-Credit Risk (Trade finance and Digital loans.
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Play an active role on delivery of Trade Finance Services, in accordance to Credit Policies and procedures.
- Ensure margins, fees and limits are observed as per the established mandates.
- Timely Issuance of trade finance contracts (Bid Bonds, performance contract, APG etc) as per the approval.
- Ensure cash margins, collateral, Service fees are maintained and observed as per approval.
- Provide timely and accurate confirmation of trade finance contracts, to awarders of the contracts.
- Liaison with internal and external customers on matter to enhance delivery.
- Maintain a robust filing system with an up-to-date database of all trade finance contracts.
- Maintain a filing register to track trade finance contracts, which informs the effective dates and expiries.
- Ensure compliance to both local and external regulatory requirements.
- Design/review processing steps/procedures and standards from time to time to ensure that they address customers’ needs per changing environment and needs.
- Protect the bank from losses emanating from errors, omissions, frauds or control lapse
- Maintain good relationship between the team and other units in the Bank

- Minimum 3 years’ experience in Trade finance, coupled with credit processing in a busy commercial bank or microfinance bank
