Manager, Treasury Middle Office
Purpose
- This role is responsible for accounting and financial Reporting of the Bank’s Treasury performance. The job holder will be the main contact person dealing with Regulator, External, Internal, and other stakeholders such as IFC, FMO on technical aspect of transactions.
- As the Manager, Treasury Middle Office, you will be the first point of contact for treasury in undertaking complex transactions such as derivatives. You will perform independent impact analysis for Treasury transactions to Management looking at all aspects i.e. Liquidity, Interest rate risk, and Foreign Exchange.
Primary Responsibilities
- Develop/Design appropriate reports to provide appropriate information which identifies the risk positions and profit and loss profile of Treasury
- Prepare Models that help with product revaluation, Sensitivity analysis, Scenario Analysis, Stress testing to help with budgeting, MIS, ALCO decisioning.
- Continuous monitoring of daily regulatory and internal exposures coming out of Treasury Products.
- Conduct independent valuation of all Treasury products e.g. Interest Rate swaps, Forwards, FX Swaps, Bonds, Options, Overnight Index Swaps etc.
- Develop robust valuation and risk measurement models for various trading products.
- Produce TMO Pack documenting movements and highlighting P&L and Balance Sheet trends across the bank’s Treasury Products and Industry.
- Conduct continuous Treasury business impact analysis/assessment
- Re-engineer existing Product control processes so as to capitalize on improved systems capability and functionality.
- Design/re-engineer exception based Treasury reporting.
- Prepare Accounting entries and events related to Products that the bank supports.
- Act as the contact person for treasury products internal and external reviews.
- Coordinate resolution of issues with cross functional teams, including front office, market risk, and operations.
- Ensure close liaison with other areas internal and external of Finance to ensure consistent adherence to policies and procedures.
- Perform analysis for ad hoc requests regarding regulatory, valuation, risk and operational concerns.
- Provide support in preparation of business cases for new opportunities and products for the Treasurer to be presented to Asset Liability Committee (ALCO).
- Support group entities on matters reporting, accounting entries, system issues, reconciliations, and trainings on Treasury products.
Conduct technical coaching and training.
Person Specifications
- A Bachelor’s Degree Finance/Accounting or related field.
- CPA or ACCA & ACI Dealing certificate or Risk Management or ACI Treasury Operations.
- Member of Associate of Kenya Institute of Bankers (AKIB) or its equivalent professional body.
- At least 5 years’ relevant experience.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent problem solving and decision making skills.
Assistant General Manager, Corporate Credit
Purpose
I&M Group operates in five countries – Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Uganda and Mauritius through its subsidiaries, affiliates, and joint venture investments in each of these countries. The Group is seeking to hire a Senior Corporate Analyst in its Corporate Credit Team for specialized sectors and acquisitions as required to support the growth of quality asset book.
Primary Responsibilities
- Responsible for quality assessment of the proposals with suitable financial & non-financial covenants and structure of facilities towards recommending the same for approval as per delegated approval limits. The same should be in line with the approved credit appetite and meet the requirements of underwriting standards, prudential guidelines, credit policy and product program requirements.
- Compliance with target turnaround time and the agreed service level agreement (SLA) with collaborative approach to the business/ risk partnership.
- Assess structured proposals in various specialized sectors such as oil & gas, treasury products, real estate, leasing, Banks/ Financial Institutions and trade transactions for corporate accounts based in Kenya as well as other group entities as suitable.
- Review Treasury, Trade Finance and Insurance companies limits for in compliance with the counterparty and country risk policies.
- Conduct ongoing monitoring and control of performance, covenants and securities, early identification of warning signs, recommending and taking of remedial action including restructures/ reorganization and/or managed exits to maintain a healthy loan portfolio.
- Develop frameworks for various related policies, risk appetite and other such documents for the lending.
- Undertake assessment of any investment by the Bank or Group towards acquisition or merger or such structured deals.
- Develop strategies for large value stressed accounts including non-performing accounts to mitigate credit risks and to ensure revival or recovery of the debt.
- Ensure strong engagement with other stakeholders such as participating banks for syndicated loans, consultants, administrators and receiver managers.
Person Specifications
- University degree in relevant business field and relevant credit management, banking and financial services qualification.
- At least 12 years’ relevant experience.
- CPA, ACCA or other related qualification will be an added advantage.
- Excellent communication (both written and oral) and interpersonal skills with a hands-on attitude and approach.
- Strong drive towards collaboration and ability to develop positive relationships with key business stakeholders and demonstrate respectful, constructive negotiating skills.
- Able to analyze and interpret financial data to make appropriate business suggestions and decisions with accountability.
- Resilience and cultivates optimism within team & organization while embracing extreme pressure to deliver.
- Should be aligned to values and vision of the organization.
- Strong understanding of products offered by the Bank and structuring of deals
- Have a good network in the banking industry and industry knowledge.
