The Capital Markets Authority (CMA) is a statutory agency charged with the responsibility of regulating and developing efficient Capital Markets in Kenya.
Student Attachment – Accounting and Finance
Reporting to the Senior Manager Accounting and Finance, the selected candidate will be responsible for;
- Verification and checking the accuracy and correctness of payment documents and ensuring that they are properly supported;
- Forwarding of all payments for approval by respective Heads of Departments;
- Preparation of payment vouchers, forwarding them for approval;
- Maintaining of the cheque register, recording of signed cheques and dispatching to the recipients;
- Filing of all payment documents in an orderly manner;
- Stamping of payment documents ‘PAID’; and
- Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time
Minimum Requirements
- A continuing student pursuing a Bachelor of Commerce degree- Finance, Economics,
- Accounting or any business-related degree.
Student Attachment – Policy and Regulatory Framework
Reporting to the Manager, Legal Framework, Responsiveness and Analysis, the selected candidate will be responsible for;
- Undertaking legal research to help in legal review and drafting;
- Liaising with relevant stakeholders in the development of legislative instruments;
- Assist in the preparation and coordination of stakeholder forums on regulatory framework;
- Coordinating stakeholder workshops; and
- Undertaking any other duties as assigned from time to time.
Minimum Requirements
- A continuing student pursuing a Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Laws or Kenya School of Law student
Student Attachment – Licensing
Reporting to the Senior Manager Approvals, Analysis and Issuer Governance, the selected candidate will be responsible for;
- Conducting fit and proper assessments for key personnel of market intermediaries;
- Carrying out preliminary review of applications for the issue of Debt and Equity securities such as corporate bonds;
- Carrying out preliminary review of license applications;
- Conducting research and preparing legal briefs and opinions;
- Providing logistical support to the licensing and approvals section; and
- Undertake other assignments as assigned from time to time.
Minimum Requirements
- A continuing student pursuing a Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Laws or Kenya School of Law student.
Student Attachment – Market Supervision
Reporting to the Senior Manager Market Supervision, the selected candidate will be responsible for;
- Compiling and updating databases in the department for ease of access and speedy data retrieval;
- Collection of market news in reference to the licensed entities and listed companies;
- Administration support in the department including preparation of letters and dispatching;
- Providing logistical support for department’s events including trainings and workshops;
- Undertaking other assignments as assigned from time to time
Minimum Requirements
- A continuing student pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Commerce, or a related field
Student Attachment – Supply Chain Management
Reporting to the Principal Supply Chain Management Officer, the selected candidate will be responsible for:
- Providing support in tender/request for quotation evaluation;
- Assisting in record management;
- Following up with service providers on contract execution;
- Assisting in raising and processing purchase/service orders; and
- Undertaking other assignments as assigned from time to time.
Minimum Requirement
- A continuing student pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Purchasing and Supplies or a related field.
Student Attachment– Main Registry
Reporting to the Senior Manager Research and Analytics, the selected candidate will be responsible for;
- Reading and sorting incoming mails/ correspondence;
- Assisting in the classification and indexing of files and records;
- Registering both incoming and outgoing files in the movement register;
- Providing support in the search of registry files;
- Updating and maintaining record of files movements;
- Scanning documents and storing in the central registry server; and
- Any other duties assigned from time to time.
Minimum Requirements
- A continuing student pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Archives/Records Management/Information Science or any related degree.
