Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis
Position summary:
At the Rainforest Alliance we are looking for a collaborative and results oriented Finance Manager to join the Finance team. The Manager FP&A will be responsible for the financial management and budgeting of RA’s Departments and reports into the Global Director, Financial Planning and Analysis. They will work with global, regional and country leadership to monitor, analyze, forecast and report the financial performance of their department programs and projects. They will develop and oversee the budgeting process for internal and external stakeholders. This position works closely with department heads, project managers and finance, administrative and/or accounting staff in the countries where RA operates. This role contributes to the productivity and impact across the organization through financial data that will help prioritize and support decision making effectively.
Responsibilities:
- Manages the financial analysis, planning and forecasting of parts of the organization (restricted and unrestricted funds);
- Maintains the financial health of the departments responsible for;
- Produce accurate monthly budget to actuals reports, forecasts and dashboards at the department, project, country and regional level;
- Conduct research and generate reports, interpreting financial information to make informed decisions;
- Collaborate with Country Leads, Project Managers, Supervisors, and other departments to ensure RA operates with financial excellence;
- Coordinate proposal budget development with program, fundraising and HQ finance staff;
- Liase with auditors to ensure appropriate monitoring of the organizations finances is maintained;
- Support field teams to help them with the start-up or close-out of strategic initiatives, grants or projects, as well as help them more effectively address and resolve critical issues and risks, with a focus on finance-related challenges;
- Ensure general compliance across country offices of finance processes, policies and procedures;
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration with a concentration in Accounting or Finance;
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in financial analysis, reporting and budgeting;
- Advanced expertise in financial modelling and Excel;
- Strong math, analytical and technical skills; highly organized and customer service oriented;
- Experience partnering with business unit leadership to support effective decision making through financial insights
- Experience managing government grants with sub-recipient grant programs preferred;
- Experience working in an international non-government organization preferred;
- Excellent organizational skills with emphasis on project and financial management;
- Project management experience and strong attention to detail;
- Outstanding communication skills;
- Ability to operate with considerable independence and as a member of a team, show good judgment, and take initiative;
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 10% of the time, nationally and internationally.
Senior Officer, Farm & Landscapes Frameworks
Position summary:
This position is responsible for ensuring the feedback from users and other internal and external stakeholders is gathered and used to improve the farm and landscape frameworks. They will also communicate the content of these frameworks and provide training material content for its users. In close collaboration with the Quality of Implementation teams, s/he will support the senior manager in gathering relevant feedback related to implementation challenges and needs to co-design and implement measures to address them. S/he will also lead comparisons of the Rainforest Alliance’s frameworks with other schemes.
Responsibilities:

- Act as primary point of contact for consultation with internal and external stakeholders to develop the standard and other frameworks, and their associated rules and systems;
- Conduct analysis of the Rainforest Alliance standard and other frameworks, and their position with respect to other schemes, including leading benchmarking activities and acting as the main contact person;
- Identify and analyse opportunities to improve the farm and landscape frameworks review process in coordination with other relevant teams;
- Feed into the development of Rainforest Alliance’s farm and landscape frameworks, including principles, criteria, requirements and indicators;
- Contribute to document development, content creation, simplification and management, including involvement in change and feedback management;
- Contribute to trainings on topics related to various frameworks internally and externally;
- Provide support, general information and instructions to QoI Teams, Assurance Provider training, and other internal RA staff/stakeholders about the farm and landscape frameworks including but not limited to requirements, guidance’s, policies and annexes;
- Configure, troubleshoot and provide support for farm requirements in the contextualization Framework; and
- Roll out research, piloting and feedback process for the continuous improvement of the farm requirements and indicators.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree/ professional qualification or other relevant educational background;
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a functional area, including internships and volunteer experience or a Master’s degree with less than 3 years of experience;
- Expertise in agronomy, biodiversity or a social discipline;
- Ability to work with certification systems, databases and coordination of software development;
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook with a demonstrated experience in reporting and data management and working knowledge of PowerPoint;
- Communication Skills: Excellent writing, editing and verbal communication skills;
- Ability to self-motivate and work independently;
- Strong organizational skills to manage projects under supervision as well as multiple priorities in a time sensitive manner and dynamic work environment;
- Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to interact culturally, linguistically, and diplomatically with diverse internal and external individuals;
- Verbal and written communication skills in English required, proficient in at least one other Rainforest Alliance working language.
Lead, Innovation
Position summary:
At the Rainforest alliance we are looking for an Innovation Lead. An innovator who seeks and develops ideas and handles innovation projects and an enabler who creates structures and processes so that innovation can happen at the Rainforest Alliance. A promoter, especially in the field of culture change, where they work to persuade and disseminate the necessary knowledge of innovation.
The Innovation team at the Rainforest Alliance had 2 main responsibilities:
- Developing and testing new value propositions and business models to achieve large scale impact 3-5 years from now.
- Overseeing and supporting the organization-wide portfolio of new offerings
The Innovation Lead is responsible for leading exploration, ideation, concept development and prototyping of new value propositions and business models for the Rainforest Alliance. The Innovation Lead paves the way, inspires people about our ideas, and gathers the right stakeholders and partners around our visions. Whilst an expert in innovation, the Innovation Lead acts as a generalist, working with many internal and external specialists, to strive for continuous business innovation within RA.
This position will have a particular focus on innovations that make RA’s work more relevant and attractive to companies: brands and retailers; building trust in the RA brand and explore new ways to engage consumers.

- Good understanding of trends and innovation in environmental sustainability and social impact;
- Strategic and analytical thinker; balanced with hands-on doing mentality, ability to persist and deal with resistance;
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities in a time sensitive manner;
- Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to interact culturally, linguistically, and diplomatically with diverse internal and external individuals;
- Experience design thinking, prototyping and lean and agile ways of working;
- Proficient in English, both verbal and written. French and/or Spanish is a plus and;
