Job Description/Requirements
Position Description
The Subject Teacher will report directly to the Head of Academics and will be responsible for teaching and instructing students at Daraja Academy
Specific responsibilities include:
- Prepare lessons adequately and timely as per the school academic schedule
- Engage ALL students in class by employing differentiated teaching styles and techniques meeting all the varied student’s needs and interests in a very interactive way
● Prepare timely lesson plans, schemes of work and any other records as set out by the academic’s department.
● Evaluates and grades students based on their performance, keeps and maintains the same for all the students in the respective subjects assigned to them.
● Maintains order and discipline in the classes and in extra curricula activities the students may engage in
● Counsels students on their academic problems or interests.
● Use of Technology in class – Utilizes audiovisual aids, computers, and other technological visualizations for students to learn, depending on the topic of the subject.
● Engage, support and participate in all school events
● Attends meetings with other professionals to discuss and identify the student’s needs for progression.
● Take up responsibilities of Class Teacher, Sport’s Coach. Club Patron, Teacher on Duty and any other as may assigned
● Be a mentor to the students
General qualifications
- University degree in Education.
- Competence in general computer skills and Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Ability to make quick decisions to arising issues and the willingness to learn Excellent oral & written skills
- Be a team player
- Demonstrated passion for girls’/women’s empowerment and Girls’ education
- Be registered by the TSC
- At least 3years experience in teaching a F4 class
