Network Engineering Supervisor

Overall Responsibility:

Offer supervision for deployment & commissioning of all the assigned Poa Networks across Kenya to achieve the wireless networks targets.

People:

  • Directly in charge of a team of 1 Network Engineer & 2 Network Engineering Technicians.
  • Management of third-party contractors.

Role Responsibilities:  

  • Lead the design, deployment, and commissioning of wireless networks and expansions, ensuring timely delivery and quality execution.
  • Supervise field teams and contractors, ensuring safety, productivity, and compliance with legal, technical, and EHS standards.
  • Maintain zero incidents, zero repeat works, and zero community complaints through strong site oversight and proactive risk management.
  • Ensure 100% accountability for materials, tools, and team performance, fostering a high-performance and safety-first culture.
  • Drive clear communication, consistent reporting, and a results-oriented mindset across all project activities.

Academic Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant engineering field, preferably Telecommunications/Electrical & Electronic Engineering.

Key competencies required for the role:

  • Deep knowledge of wireless network design, deployment, commissioning, RF engineering, IT systems, and networking protocols.
  • At least 7 years of experience in wireless network engineering within the telecom industry.
  • Proven track record of leading teams and supervising third-party vendors in delivering high-quality, safe, and cost-effective installations under tight timelines.
  • Strong team player with excellent problem-solving skills, initiative, a learning mindset, and a results-driven approach.
  • Must be comfortable with fieldwork and outdoor installations, including at heights.
  • Willing to travel across the country upon request.

Network Engineer

Overall Responsibility:

Responsible for the deployment, commissioning, field support and  preventive maintenance of all the assigned sites in the field (new networks and expansions) across Kenya helping in achieving the wireless install & commissioning targets cost effectively with a keen focus on quality and high safety standards.

People:

Managing a team of Network Technicians.

Role Responsibilities:  

  • Deploy & Commission wireless sites on time and to quality standards.
  • Maintain 99.9% Tower Uptime through proactive and reactive support.
  • Ensure zero repeat installs and full compliance with safety, legal, and site documentation standards.
  • Prevent community complaints and uphold professional site conduct.
  • Maintain strict EHS compliance with no site accidents or fatalities.
  • Ensure full accountability for materials, team productivity, and accurate reporting.

Academic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant engineering field, preferably in Telecommunications/Electrical & Electronic Engineering.

Key Competencies required for the role:

  • Hands-on experience in wireless network deployment in telecommunications with strong knowledge of RF engineering, routing & switching, IT systems, and outdoor installations (antennae, lattice masts, power systems).
  • Experience working at heights and in the field with proven success in fast-paced, resource-limited environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to deploy high-quality, safe, and cost-effective networks with zero compromises.
  • Strong team player with analytical problem-solving skills, initiative, and a can-do attitude. 
  • Experience in team leadership and ability to manage third-party teams effectively.
  • Willingness to travel across Kenya upon request.
