VACANCIES FOR POST PRIMARY TEACHERS ON P&P TO TEACH JUNIOR SCHOOLS – AUGUST, 2026
The Teachers Service Commission invites applications from qualified candidates to fill 20,000 Post Primary teachers posts in Junior Schools to support the implementation of Competency Based Education.
Interested and qualified candidates should submit their applications online through the Commission’s website, www.tsc.go.ke under “Careers” or teachersonline.tsc.go.ke not later than Midnight of 31st August, 2026.
Minimum Requirements
To qualify for recruitment, a candidate should meet the following minimum requirements:
- Citizenship: Be a Kenyan citizen.
- Qualifications: Must be a holder of at least a diploma in education with a minimum mean Grade of C+ (plus) and C+ (plus) in two teaching Subjects in KCSE or its equivalent.
- Registration: Must be a registered teacher with the Teachers Service Commission.

General Information
- The Teachers Service Commission’s Guidelines for Recruitment of Post Primary Teachers for 2026/2027 Financial Year shall apply.
- Manual applications will not be considered.
- Candidates must be unemployed and have no record of exiting teaching service with the Commission due to disciplinary grounds.
- Candidates will be required to present original academic and professional certificates.
- Selection of Candidates will strictly be on merit and based on the number of vacancies per County.
- Successful candidates must not fill more than one application for employment form.
- Successful teacher interns will be retained in their current sub-counties/stations.
- Successful candidates shall be required to teach various learning areas under the Junior School Curriculum. Visit the Commission’s website (www.tsc.go.ke) for more information.
- Application Timeline: The application portal will be opened Tuesday, 18th August 2026 and closed on Monday, 31st August, 2026 midnight.
