Head of Department – Business & Economics

The successful candidate will be reporting to the Dean of the School of Business & Economics and will be responsible for the following:
- Overseeing the Academic Program development and the Curriculum review process.
- Participating in approving all student admissions into various programs in the department.
- Receiving new students registered in the department, orienting and assisting them to settle in their studies.
- Overseeing all teaching, and examination processes; to ensure that quality standards are maintained.
- Managing the student’s progression, transition and eventual graduation.
- Monitoring class attendance by students and staff and timely resolutions of students and staff concerns.
- Provide leadership and managing people, including monitoring the performance of faculty (and staff), adherence to work etiquette, leave management and disciplinary matters
- Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time by the supervisors or as captured in the detailed job description.
Qualification & Experience
- PhD/Doctorate in Business Administration/ Purchasing and Supplies Management/ Finance/Human Resource Management/ Marketing/Entrepreneurship/ Economics/ Statistics/Accounting or equivalent degree qualification in a relevant area from a recognised/ accredited university.
- Master in Business Administration/ Purchasing and Supplies Management/ Finance/ Human Resource Management/ Marketing/Entrepreneurship/ Economics/ Statistics/Accounting degree or a related area from a recognised/accredited university.
- Bachelor of Business Administration/ Purchasing and Supplies Management/ Finance/ Human Resource Management/ Marketing/Entrepreneurship/ Economics/ Statistics/Accounting degree or in a relevant field from a recognised/accredited University.
- Minimum of twenty-four (24) publication points of which sixteen (16) should be from refereed journal articles
- At least three years of teaching experience at the University level.
- Supervised at least two (2) postgraduate students.
- At least a year’s management experience.
- Attended and/or contributed to academic conferences, seminars and workshops.
- Evidence of being a member of a relevant professional body.
Head of Department – ICT & Engineering

The successful candidate will be reporting to the Dean School of ICT, Media and Engineering and will be responsible for the following:

- Master of Science in Information Technology/ Computer Science degree or a related area from a recognised/accredited university.
