Administration Assistant

Job Objective/Purpose

The Radiology Administration Assistant will be responsible for coordinating and managing workload allocation for reporting radiologists in the reference imaging unit. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage the workload allocation for reporting radiologists, ensuring equitable distribution of cases and efficient use of resources.
  • Organize and prioritize imaging studies based on urgency, complexity, and radiologists’ availability.
  • Assign cases to radiologists based on their expertise and sub-specialty qualifications.
  • Monitor and track turnaround times for imaging reports, identifying and resolving any delays or issues.
  • Ensure accurate and complete documentation of imaging reports, including proper coding and billing information.
  • Collaborate with the radiologists to address any quality or accuracy concerns in imaging reports.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient information and comply with all relevant regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Provide training and support to radiologists on the use of reporting software, templates, and guidelines.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, including data collection and analysis, to enhance the performance and efficiency of the imaging reports workflow
  • Collaborate with other departments and clinics to ensure smooth communication and coordination of imaging studies.
  • Any other duty as may be assigned from time to time by your immediate supervisor in line with the job description.

Person Specification

  • Diploma/bachelor’s degree in business administration or any other related field.
  • Diploma/bachelor’s degree in Diagnostic Radiography/Medical Imaging Sciences or any other related field will be an added advantage.
  • Understanding of the PACs system
  • BLS Certification.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant working experience.
  • Knowledge of radiology workflow and imaging report generation process
  • Critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and a team player.
  • Ethical.
  • Empathetic, Reliable and customer focused.
