Area of Deployment:

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Spearheading formulation, implementation and review of Judiciary’s communications policies and strategies;
- Spearheading and advising on communication in the Judiciary;
- Ensuring effective and efficient crisis communication management;
- Promoting public engagement;
- Managing corporate information gateways;
- Spearheading branding and production of promotional materials;
- Overseeing the development and implementation of strategies;
- Coordinating preparation of timely media supplements, appearances, documentaries, press releases and features;
- Managing the Judiciary’s digital platforms;
- Overseeing branding and publicity of the Judiciary for events;
- Spearheading the development and implementation of initiatives to promote Judiciary’s corporate image;
- Facilitating promotion of public awareness of Judiciary’s programs and processes;
- Coordinating development and dissemination of Information, Education and Communication materials;
- Facilitating research on public opinion towards the Judiciary;
- Overseeing Management of Judiciary Call Centers and Customer Care desks;
- Overseeing the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) database/register;
- Undertaking, implementing, monitoring and reviewing the directorate annual budgetary allocations; and
- Overseeing Performance Management, mentoring, guidance and counseling of staff.
Job Requirements: Academic and Professional Qualifications
For appointment to this grade, the applicant must have: –
- Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following: Mass Communication, Communication Studies, Journalism, Public Relations, Corporate Communication, Social Sciences, or any other approved equivalent qualifications from a recognized university/institution;
- Master’s degree in any of the following disciplines: Mass Communication, Communication Studies, Journalism, Public Relations, Corporate Communication, Social Sciences, or any other approved equivalent qualifications from a recognized university/institution;
- Membership of Public Relations Society of Kenya or any other relevant professional body;
- A course in Strategic Leadership Development or its equivalent from a recognized institution;
- Proficiency in computer applications; and
- Meet the Requirements of Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution.
Experience:
- Minimum Fifteen (15) years relevant work-experience with at least five (5) years in Middle Level Management.

Duties and Responsibilities
The chairperson shall discharge the following duties: –
- Presiding over all proceedings where he/she is present in person;

- Participate in hearing and determination of all disputes which come before the full bench;’

- Writing awards, judgments, orders, rulings and decrees issued by the Tribunal;

Qualifications
- For appointment to the position of Member of National Environment Tribunal, an applicant must be in possession of the qualifications provided under section 125 (1) (a) of the Environmental Management and Coordination Act of 1999.
- Be a person qualified for appointment as a Judge of the Environment and Land Court of Kenya;
- Hold a law degree from a recognized university or be an advocate of the High Court of Kenya or possess an equivalent qualification in a commonlaw jurisdiction.
- Have at least ten (10) years’ experiences as a Superior Court Judge or professionally qualified Magistrate irrespective of whether that experience was gained in Kenya or in another commonwealth commonlaw jurisdiction; or
- Have at least ten (10) years’ experiences as a distinguished academic or legal practitioner with knowledge and experience in matters relating to environment and land or such experience in other relevant legal field irrespective of whether that experience was gained in Kenya or in another commonwealth common-law jurisdiction; or
