Obstetrician/ Gynaecologist – Medical Specialist II – 2 Positions
Requirements for appointment
- Be a Kenyan citizen;

Duties and responsibilities
- The Obstetrician/ Gynaecologist shall be responsible to the employer and the supervisor for the following;
- Provide facility Leadership and Management for the County Hospitals
- Develop and plan projects and activities geared towards provision of quality Obstetric and Gynecological care and ensure their implementation.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and management.
- Provide guidance on best practices for the facilities.
- Provide OB-GYN consultation for women of all ages requiring specialized care from County Hospitals.
- Lead Sexual Reproductive Health projects within the organization including cervical cancer management, teenage Sexual Reproductive Health management and Maternal, Newborn and child health services.
- Ensure all Standard Operating Procedures and manuals are up to date and are adhered to.
- Provide timely monthly and quarterly reports to the County Health Management.
- Monitor program performance and inform areas of learning for continuous quality improvement.
- Develop and monitor facility budgets and revenues and provide quarterly financial reports.
- Organize Continuous Medical Education sessions for Medics in all the Centers.
- Available at any time in case of emergencies.
- Any other duty that may be assigned by the supervisor.
Mortician (Farewell Home Attendant)
Requirements for appointment
- Be a Kenyan citizen;
- KCSE Certificate;
- Certificate in Mortuary Attendance, embalming and grief counselling or any mortuary related field from a recognized institution in Kenya;
- At least two (2) years relevant work experience in a busy mortuary or a reputable Funeral Home;
- Good interpersonal and communication skills; and
- Strong English and Swahili language skills
Duties and responsibilities
The Mortician shall be responsible to the employer and the supervisor for the following;
- Collecting and receiving bodies within the hospital and outside through the prescribed
- Recording bodies
- Washing the bodies, embalming and refrigeration
- Scrubbing and assisting in post mortems
- Counselling the relatives
- Releasing the bodies to the relatives as per the laid procedures
- Performing any other duty that may be assigned by the supervisor
Director Public Communication
Requirements and Competencies for Appointment:
- Be a Kenyan citizen;
- A Bachelor’s degree and Post-Graduate Diploma in Communication, Public Relations or Journalism from a recognized institution.
- A Master’s degree in Communication Studies, Mass Communication, Public Relations, International Relations, Information Sciences or Journalism or any other approved equivalent qualification from a recognized institution will be an added advantage;
- Have experience of at least ten (10) years in a communication or media position;
- Have Certificate in Computer Applications;
- Be abreast with current affairs and public sentiments;
- Have proven communication, writing, editing and proficiency skills;
- Have proven knowledge and understanding of print, broadcast, online media and legislative process;
- Have ability to work in a multi-ethnic environment with sensitivity and respect for diversity;
- Demonstrate understanding and commitment to the values and principles as outlined in article 10 and 232 of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010;
Duties and Responsibilities
The Director Public Communication shall be responsible to the employer and the supervisor for the following;
- Initiate, review public communications policy and design appropriate programmes and infrastructure to facilitate its implementation;
- Initiate research on various Public Communication issues and developing appropriate interventions and response;
- Coordinate internal and external communications;
- Develop standards and regulations in the management of public communications functions;
- Advise the Executive on Public and International Relations relevant to the County functions and ensure the County promotes a positive cooperate image;
- Coordinate the entire County’s corporate affairs, activities and development;
- Provide media coverage to the County functions and overseeing the functioning of the media center;
- Organize and manage press release, press conferences, writing guest columns; and preparing official speeches and briefs for H.E. The Governor;
- Produce and communicate publications on the County programs, activities and investment opportunities
- Establish and manage a database of news and information; and
- Any other lawful duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Animal Health Assistant/Meat Inspector – 8 Positions
Requirements for appointment
- Be a Kenyan citizen;
- Have a Certificate lasting not less than two (2) years in any of the following disciplines: – Animal Health or Animal Health and
- Production from a recognized institution.
- Have a Certificate in Meat Inspection
- Certificate in Computer Application from a recognized institution
- Have an experience of at least 1 year
Duties and responsibilities
The Meat Inspector shall be responsible to the employer and the supervisor for the following:
- Providing Meat Hygiene and Inspection Service;
- Animal Breeding advice;
- Carrying our simple treatment of animals;
- Participating in disease search and reporting;
- Demonstrating on milking techniques and external parasite control techniques such as dipping, spraying and dusting;
- Carrying out vaccination;
- Undertaking closed castration, dehorning, deworming, docking, de- beaking and hoof trimming; and
- Any other duty that may be assigned by the supervisor.
Cooperative Auditor – 2 Positions
Requirements for appointment
- Be a Kenyan citizen;
- Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following disciplines: Commerce Business Management or Business Administration with a bias in Accounting/Finance from recognized institutions;
- Certified Public Accountants (CPA) Kenya Part II or Certified Internal Auditors (CIA)Part II from recognized institution;
OR
- Certified Public Accountants (CPA K) Kenya Part III or Certified Internal Auditors (CIA)Part III from recognized institution;
- Must be a member of ICPAK;
- Certificate in computer applications from a recognized institution
Duties and responsibilities
The Cooperative Auditor shall be responsible to the employer and the supervisor for the following:
- Examining Vouchers and cashbooks, Ledgers confirming the propriety and accuracy of the transactions;
- Carrying out Audit Inspections of societies records;
- Collecting data on periodical financial returns, estimates of income and expenditure;
- Computation of financial and statistical records based on routine or special sources of information;
- Auditing Annual accounts and undertaking audit Inspection of co- operative societies; and
- Any other duty that may be assigned by the supervisor.
Charge Hand II – Electrician
Requirements for appointment
- Be a Kenyan Citizen;
- Be in possession of a Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent and relevant qualification from a recognized institution;
- Have Certificate in Computer Applications
Duties and responsibilities
The Electrician shall be responsible to the employer and the supervisor for the following:
- Design of electrical/Electronic engineering services in government buildings and construction works;
- Repair and maintenance of electrical /electronic installations in waterworks, offices, workshops, conference complexes and other county government facilities.

Road Inspector
Requirements for appointment
- Be a Kenyan Citizen;
- A Diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognized institution
- Any past experience in road inspection will be an added advantage

Duties and responsibilities
The Road Inspector shall be responsible to the employer and the supervisor for the following:
- Supervising and controlling of all roads works in a constituency as assigned
- Assisting in selection and location of suitable materials for road works
- Preparing and maintaining master rolls, pay sheets, stores ledger, tools and plant ledgers, log sheets & tickets, daily activity cards and any other record and;

Land Survey Assistant
Requirements for appointment
- Be a Kenyan Citizen;
- Diploma in any of the following disciplines: Land Surveying and
- Photogrammetry, Geomatics, Geomatics Engineering, Technology in Geomatics, Technology in Geo –informatics or Geo – special Engineering from a recognized institution; and Member of relevant professional body.
- At least 2 years experience in similar work.;
- Have Certificate in Computer Applications
Duties and responsibilities
The Land Survey Assistant shall be responsible to the employer and the supervisor for the following:
- Responsible for undertaking survey and mapping works in the Sub- Counties.
- Opening of blocked/encroached roads of access
- Implementing boundary dispute resolutions
- Conducting topographical and physical survey of sites for preparation of sites plans for development
- Carrying out cadastral survey for preparations of survey plans for titling
- Recommendation of building plans for approval.
- Carrying out reduction computation and adjustment of traverse network.
- Drafting maps and plans for further improvement.
- Collecting data for preparation of local development plans.
- Preparing budgets proposals for survey field works.
- Any other duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor
Deputy Director – Culture and Tourism
Requirements for appointment
- Be an Employee of Tharaka Nithi County;
- Bachelor degree in any of the following discipline; Cultural Studies, Anthropology, Sociology, History, Philosophy, Archeology, Creative Arts, Theatre, Arts, Music, Fine Arts, Kiswahili and Literacy Studies, Political Science, Psychology, Indigenous Languages or its equivalent from a university recognized in Kenya

Duties and Responsibilities

- Verifying and endorsing registration forms for cultural practitioners; from association and committees for effective service delivery disseminating cultural information to the community;

- Coordinating collection and development of gender-disaggregated data and management information systems;

- Liaising with National Government staff at the Ward level;

- Coordinating developmental activities to empower the community;
