Trips and Visits Specialist I
Responsibilities
- Maintains a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ, maintains a courteous, Christ-like attitude in dealing with people within and outside of Compassion, and faithfully upholds Compassion’s ministry in prayer.
- Acts as an advocate for children. Understands and advances Christ’s mandate to protect children. Raises awareness of the needs of children and takes active steps to help protect against neglect, abuse, and exploitation of children. Promotes the dignity, respect, positive treatment, potential of children in all circumstances. Encourages the involvement of others in helping children in need. Reports and appropriately supports responses to incidents of harm of children if they occur.
- Assists in collaborating with marketing specialists to provide first-hand experience and exposure to Compassion’s core ministry programs for vision trips, sponsors, and donors, ultimately to increase involvement and sponsorship of children.
- Cooperates with partnership team and church partners to plan tours and visits for vision trips, sponsors, and donors. Provides feedback to Partnership Facilitators and Training teams for Partnership capacity/skill building to enhance the quality of tours and visits to the project.
- Helps find and train translators to service tour groups as they interact with church partners, sponsored children, and other key stakeholders. Trains and arranges payment for these translators.
- Uses discretion and independent judgment to guard Compassion’s interests as well as the life and property of participants as best as possible. Relies on external resources to help enable travel security in the area.
- Helps arrange logistics for marketing related groups including booking accommodations, arranging in-country transportation, and purchasing visit gifts.
- Explains Compassion programs and trip outcomes, collaborating with stakeholders to ensure field exposure trip quality and effectiveness.
- May provide expertise to other professionals and support staff in the tours discipline.

Requirements
- Degree holder in Tourism or Hospitality.
- 2-3 years of relevant experience in hosting and managing logistics for international guests.
- Transcultural experience in working with people from different cultural backgrounds.
- Planning, coordination and very responsive to emerging issues.
- Flexible to working outside of normal office hours including weekends and might be required to be away from home from time to time.
- Servant leader and an active listener.
- Team player, outgoing, and with negotiation skills.
- Valid driver’s licence.
Supervisor of Sponsor Donor Support
Responsibilities

- Acts as an advocate to raise the awareness of the needs of children. Understands Christ’s mandate to protect children. Commits to and prioritizes child protection considerations in all decision-making, tasks and activities across the ministry. Abides by all behavioral expectations in Compassion’s Statement of Commitment to Child Protection and Code of Conduct. Reports any concerns of abuse, neglect or exploitation of children through Compassion’s internal reporting process and appropriately supports responses to incidents if they occur.
- Provides leadership and development to direct reports. Works with staff to foster an environment of professional growth, in alignment with compassion’s strategies and objectives. Consult with peer management and senior leaders to successfully align departmental resources and priorities across Compassion.
- Contributes to or prepares and administers the annual budget and departmental expenses, ensuring accountability for on-time completion of deliverables based on department objectives, SLAs, and other Compassion standards, ensuring compliance with regulatory and board policies.
- Selects, manages and develops assigned staff, establishing goals and objectives, coaching and managing performance, including discipline, motivation, and annual reviews. Supports continuous learning and development that enhances individual performance and organizational capability.

- Monitors quality of documents and orders corrections of entry errors into the database for dispatching.
- Supervises the generation, organizing, recording, and tracking of child, mother-child unit and student information and correspondence documents.
- Working directly or in cooperation with appropriate staff, utilizes appropriate software and programs to lead the gathering of communication resources from the church partner to support major issues and projects.
- Oversees the production of electronic child information being entered into the child and sponsorship database and produces database reports and maintains computer files. Also oversees the review, approval or rejection of child information received. Often participates in other program support activities in support of partnership facilitators and church partners.
