News Producer – RamogiTV

Key roles & responsibilities
- Generate news and feature stories for RMS TV stations and other platforms
- Devise and implement strategies to continuously grow news audience numbers
- Manage the daily running of the news desk
- Assign duties to reporters and correspondents
- Monitor news-based content
- Structure the day’s news outlook and chair planning/strategy meetings.
- Guide county correspondents on coverage and packaging of news items
- Edit news items from reporters and correspondents
- Generate feature stories coverage plan
- Ensure quality of news content
- Ensure news balance, factuality, accuracy and adherence to the company editorial policy

- Impeccable command of Luo, English and Kiswahili languages

Academic and professional/work Experience
- University degree in Communication or another related field from a recognized University.
- Masters’ degree in Communication or equivalent will be an added advantage.
- At least 5 years’ experience in a reputable newsroom (Print or Broadcasting) two of which must be in a senior position.
TV Anchor and Reporter – iNooroTV

Key roles & responsibilities
- Professionally anchor newscasts by delivering news that is clear and concise for viewers, while providing appropriate unscripted content. The material will be both pre-recorded and live pieces.
- Complete topical news promotion for use on-air and with other partners in a timely fashion that meets daily deadlines
- Identifying potential interviewees, briefing them, preparing interview questions, and conducting both live and recorded interviews
- Update website and social media with newscasts or news stories
- Participate in public appearances and community events when called upon
- Developing and maintaining useful contacts and relations with news sources;
- Understanding and complying with media law and industry codes of conduct.
- Identifying newsworthy events, attending, writing and packaging stories prior to broadcast
- Delivering scripted, spontaneous, live and pre-recorded reports on newsworthy events
- Interviewing newsmakers, eye witnesses and any other persons of interest in news stories
- Writing scripts, summarizing and translating copy for news purposes
- Working collaboratively with other members of the reporting and editorial team
Academic and professional/work Experience
- Degree in journalism, mass communications, or any other related field OR Degree in social science and post-graduate training in journalism or mass communication OR a Post Graduate Degree in Journalism
- Previous anchoring experience is desired but not compulsory but at least two years of relevant experience in a busy newsroom in a media house covering all or other aspects of news will be an advantage
Essential Competences
- Strong on-air presentation with credible delivery and personal style
- Excellent written and spoken Kikuyu, English and Kiswahili. The capacity for bilingual reporting will be an added advantage
- An edge for news or features, the ability for quick thinking, resilience, personal initiative, and a good memory Ability to work for long hours and on short notice. Able to handle pressure well as their work is often in LIVE conditions
- The ability to think ahead, spot trends, and predict what is critical in high-pressure news broadcasts, and implement the same.
- Sound knowledge of the local and international social, political, and economic news-shaping environment
- A self-starter who can generate his or her story ideas daily.
- Ability to report accurately and impartially.
- Ability to work under deadlines and on a flexible schedule that will include evenings and/or weekends is required.

Assistant Transport Officer

Royal Media Services Limited is seeking to recruit a highly qualified individual for the aforementioned position. The job holder will be responsible for assisting in the oversight of the company’s fleet of vehicles. The Assistant Transport Officer will report to the Transport Officer and must be highly collaborative to manage costs and keep the fleet running smoothly.
The roles of the Transport Supervisor Position will include the following: –
- Provide an efficient administrative service including collating, inputting and maintaining data.
- Provide additional administrative support as and when needed to the wider team.
- Assist in the scheduling of maintenance of vehicles.
- Undertake health and safety stock checks on the vehicles and replenish where required.
- Ensure all vehicles have valid statutory documents.
- Ensuring security and safety of the vehicle on and off the road.
- Prepare fuel consumption report and vehicle cost analysis report on a monthly basis and submit to the HR and Administration Manager.
- Ensure all drivers have a valid driving license.
- Conduct spot checks on vehicles to ensure that they are in good working condition.
- Ensure routine servicing and maintenance of Company vehicles are carried out on time
- Follow up on payments for all expenses relating to Company vehicles including fuel expenses and servicing in a timely manner.
