Procurement Manager

JOB OVERALL PURPOSE

  • Under the guidance of the General Manager-Finance, the Procurement Manager is responsible for the effective delivery of procurement services to the company in line with the Company’s procurement rules and ensuring the department is synchronized to meet the organizations needs

Qualifications

  • A Degree in purchasing and supplies management, supply chain management or procurement and contract management from a recognized and accredited institution.
  • Must be a member of professional body either KISM or CIPS in good standing.
  • Professional qualification in Procurement such as CIPS-UK or CPSP-K
  • Valid practising license from KISM
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years in a busy procurement environment/office preferably in a manufacturing set up either in private or public sector.

Responsibilities

  • Manage stock levels and identify purchasing needs in coordination with the Assistant Purchasing Manager and Procurement Officer and the stores department
  • Develop and implement the company’s annual procurement work plans and in line with the Strategic objective of the department.
  • Research potential vendors
  • Track orders and ensure timely delivery in coordination with the department
  • Ensure Continuous update of internal databases with order details (dates, vendors, quantities, discounts etc)
  • Evaluate offers from vendors and submit proposals for final approval
  • Manage the administrative process throughout the duration of the preparation of all documentation until the award of the work
  • Participate in drafting and managing contracts to ensure timely delivery of goods, services and works and value for money.
  • Prepare documents and reports for procurement committee
  • Ensure that all procurement documents are well filed and securely stored
  • Respond to audit queries and ensure that issues raised in audit reports are addressed and closed out in a timely manner.
  • Follow up with suppliers, as needed, to confirm or change orders
  • Liaise with warehouse staff to ensure all products arrive in good condition
  • Ensure all procurement related KPI’S, practices and policies are adhered to and compliance by the whole department
  • Undertaking research, surveys and analysis of supply market
  • Undertake day to day procurement activities including solicitation of quotations locally for low value items, quotation analysis & bid evaluation and making recommendations for proposal approval.
  • Coordinate with users and make sure the right materials needed are properly specified in the requisitions. Find out the sample of material to be purchased if necessary
  • Strategic management of procurement activities in line with the Company’s Strategic Plan
  • Perform other duties related to the field as may be assigned

Motorcycle Messenger

Job Description

The opportunity We are looking for a Motorcycle Messenger to handle various transportation duties. You will report to the Warehouse & Dispatch Manager and you shall be responsible for riding company motorcycle(s), transporting passengers, documents and/or parcels, and performing various logistics errands. We expect you to be attentive, organized and a reliable individual with exemplary work ethics and commitment.

Responsibilities

  • Operate company motorcycle(s) in a safe and efficient manner and in abidance with the law
  • Serve as a messenger by collecting and/or delivering documents and parcels
  • Perform in-branch banking activities such as cheque deposits and other office-related tasks
  • Transport passengers riding as pillion
  • Clean and keep clean the assigned vehicles
  • Maintain the vehicles in topmost condition and report any mechanical issues promptly
  • Adhere fully to traffic rules and regulations while ensuring timely completion of tasks
  • Assist with other company-related activities upon request What we expect of you

Qualifications

  • Motorcycle driving license
  • Road discipline and ability to strictly follow traffic regulations
  • Android smartphone
  • Ability to use Google Maps
  • Proven experience (at least 2 years) as a messenger
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to negotiate and handle challenging conversations tactfully
