Finance Manager
- Our client a private tertiary TVETA medical training institution located in Thika, Kenya, seeks to hire a Finance Manager. The position holder is responsible for overseeing all financial activities, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing strategic financial guidance to support the institution’s objectives.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Managing the operational financial administration within the college
- Responsible for institutional and departmental budgeting and forecasting
- Co-ordinate all the annual external audit and internal audit liaising
- Maintain and oversee all bank accounts and perform bank reconciliations
- Prepare high-level committee papers & reports on financial and non-financial matters
- Monitor and analyze spending by internal and external stakeholders including
- Monitor financial performance and provide input to the value of activities.
- Identify potential efficiency and resource-saving opportunities
- Prepare management reports and financial accounts as required
- Contribute to systems development and process improvement
- Prepare and deliver briefings, presentations and training as required
- Manage and report on external suppliers, partnership agreements/contracts with organizations and vendors
- Identify and report on actions required to achieve financial targets set by the college.
- Maintain oversight of all budgets and financial transactions, monitoring expenditure against commitments ensuring expenditure is authorized in line with budget targets.
Required Specifications
- At least a degree in Finance and/or Accounting, a master’s degree is an advantage
- 5 years of relevant work experience
- Expert knowledge in working with complex financial information systems and reporting
- Experience in preparation of audited statutory financial statements
- Experience in writing complex reports (nonfinancial and financial), briefing papers, and presentations.Experience in providing analytical and strategic advice to senior managers
- Experience working in a complex multi-faceted environment with tight deadlines
- Excellent numeracy and financial data-handling skills
- Ability to assimilate and communicate complex financial concepts to a nonfinancial audience.
- A very high level of proficiency with MS Excel and financial software Programs
- Complete discretion in the handling and management of sensitive information and the maintenance of confidentiality
- Project management and organizational skills
- Thinks creatively and implements solutions for complex problems
- Ability to identify gaps against best practice
Accountant – SNDBX
The Opportunity
- SNDBX International is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial transactions, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. The accountant will play a crucial role in maintaining the financial health and stability of the organisation.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Timely and accurately capture financial transactions in the accounting system
- Prepare management reports, and maintain accurate and organized financial records
- Accurately identify and record income generated from various sources
- Prepare annual budgets and report on actual performance against budgets every month
- Monitor expenses, enforce budgetary guidelines, and identify cost-saving opportunities
- Accurately calculate and disburse salaries and submit statutory returns
- Verify bills and reimbursement requests, process payments and perform Bank Reconciliations
- Responsible for accounts receivable and accounts payable management

- A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required
- CPA certification
