Carpenter
Your role
The Carpenter is responsible to carry out carpentry and painting works at the delegation and residences, under supervision.
Accountabilities & Functional responsibilities
- Perform carpentry work as directed, carry out any repairs or changes to existing structures;
- Assessment of materials and cost estimates required for a project;
- Make different kinds of furniture/joinery with good finishes;
- Knowledge of painting and varnishing work to any given item or building would be an added advantage;
- Carry out painting tasks at the delegation and residence;
- Appropriate use of the electrical equipment for carpentry i.e. planners, jigsaws, sanders, drill etc.
- Any other tasks that may be assigned.
What we will look for in your profile
- Minimum certificate in Carpentry and Joinery from a recognized Institution;
- Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) mean grade C-(minus);
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar position;
- Previous working experience with International Organizations (preferred);
- Good written and spoken English;
- Attention to detail and meticulous use of proper safety procedures;
- Certificate of good conduct;
- High degree of flexibility;
- Computer Literacy.
Electrician
Your role
- The Electrician will be carrying out corrective and preventive maintenance of the electrical system in the premises and facility which involves installations, maintaining, and repairs.
Accountabilities & Functional responsibilities
- Analyze and formulate solutions for any electrical problem;
- Assess the electrical installations in new premises;
- Perform essential carpentry and plumbing works related to the hot water system and water pumps as required;
- Establish, maintain and ensure safe electrical systems for the delegation and the residences;
- Implement the preventive maintenance schedule;
- Install new generators, control panels and do diagnostics and repairs;
- Proactive in assessing future problems when visiting premises and intervene immediately when possible;
- Plan and install new power system from any given power point in the premises and offices;
- Prepare, read interpret designs, drawings, and bills of quantities (estimates & costing) and works progress schedules for all electrical works;
- Propose energy saving solutions when possible;
- Repair domestic electrical appliances such as washing machines, cookers, etc.
- Respond to emergencies quickly in a sometimes-stressful environment;
- Support technical projects from sustainable development;
- Trouble shooting and carry out electrical repairs on existing structures;
- Monitor the electric consumption and report irregularities;
What we will look for in your profile
- University Degree in Electrical engineering or advanced diploma, or any other related field;
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience as an Electrician or similar position;
- Experience in electrical system installation, protection and earthing systems, maintenance, and repair of electrical installations;
- Experience in electrical household equipment as washing machines, water heaters etc;
- Valid driving License, minimum 2yrs of progressive driving experience;
- Previous working experience with International Organizations (preferred);
- Excellent command of written and spoken English;
- Computer Literacy.
