Laboratory Technologist – Biochemistry
Main Duties
- Receiving patient samples for laboratory analysis
- Ensure all lab test procedures are conducted as per the SOPs
- Participate in continuous medical education programs of the department
- Assist in training of new staff and students on internship
- Write and review SOPs
- Monitor turnaround times
- Monitor reagents and supplies to ensure the department has enough supplies while ensuring maximum utilization and efficiency
- Ensure compliances of all the daily quality assurance requirements in the sections
- Perform daily equipment maintenance and track planned preventive maintenance
- Participate in department and hospital CMEs
- Liaise with Laboratory Manager on new laboratory procedures to ensure that the laboratory is abreast with fast developing technology
- Market services offered in the department
- Supervise the daily performance of laboratory technologists assigned to the section
- Perform other duties as may be assigned by the Laboratory Manager or designee from time to time
Required Qualifications for the Position
- Holder of HND or BSC in Medical Laboratory Sciences from a recognized institution
- Must have current KMLTTB license
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a laboratory technologist in a busy hospital laboratory
- Minimum 3 years of experience in biochemistry
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Keen on detail with high degree of accuracy
- High degree of administrative capability and good leadership skills
- In depth knowledge regarding ISO 15189 will be an added advantage
so as to reach us not later than 31stMay 2023
Motorbike Rider
Main Duties
- Provision of transport to all Hospital departments to facilitate the following:
- – Collection of any supplies
- – Delivery of goods and materials to the various satellite clinics
- Report any case of accident, injury or damage of motorbikes to the Supervisor
- Ensuring that all of the hospital motorbikes have the necessary documents i.e. insurance.
- Ensure that authorization is obtained for all journeys on a daily basis
- Record mileage at the beginning and at the end of each journey in the journey log provided
- Responsible for the security of motorbikes during working hours and any goods on transit
- Ensure that the motorbikes are kept clean and serviced as required
- Careful use and handling of the motorbikes at all times
- Submit receipts for all cash spent on fuel and emergency repairs
Required Qualifications for the Position
- The ideal candidate should have a minimum D in KCSE
- Valid driving Licence (B, C & E) or A2, A3
- Knowledge in basic mechanics
- 2 years’ experience in motorcycle -accident free
- Well trained in traffic safety and highway codes
- Well conversant with Nairobi streets, avenues and residences
