Manufacturing and Maintenance Manager
About the Role:
- Burn is looking for a Manufacturing and Maintenance Manager who will be responsible for directing and coordinating activities leading to the quality production of company products in line with customer expectations and schedules with a focus on safety to optimize processes and the costs of the production and maintenance departments.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Overall responsibility for the Maintenance, Safety and Production Departments
- Oversee production scheduling, safety, training, and production documentation
- Oversee preventative maintenance program of production lines, equipment, and utilities
- Oversee root cause analysis system for Breakdowns including hands-on repairs and fixes and prevention of the issue in the future.
- Implement new equipment and processes. Work with the Engineering team Production and Quality teams to qualify new processes and equipment.
- Prepare leasehold improvements, equipment, people, etc. for new product launches.
- Responsible for process improvement and continuous improvement.
- Team management.
- Take a leadership role with the on-the-floor teams when major changes come in the factory, such as big changes in volumes, compensation, team, etc.
- Managing change and growth.
- Responsible for factory expansion and improvement projects, such as building new offices. Maintain relationships with contractors (electrical, plumbing, civil, ventilation and fabrication).
- Risk identification and planning for risk reduction of factory capacity, safety and maintenance.
- Maintain clean, safe and orderly working environment.
- Leadership and Overall responsibility for factory health.
- Implement and manage ERP system from the production and maintenance perspectives
- Implementation of strategic systems, such as TPM, lean, etc.
Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, administration, or facility management
- Minimum experience of 10 years in a supervisory role
- Working knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems
- Familiarity in drafting and understanding blueprints and schematics
- Effective communication and people management skills
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
Regional Carbon Policy Analyst
About the role
BURN seeks a Regional Carbon Policy Analyst to support our carbon market activities under Article 6 of the Paris Agreement. This role will analyse policy developments in our current and expansion markets and support our applications to buyers in the Global North.
This role could suit someone from an environmental policy background, someone with experience in the carbon markets, or anyone with exceptional grant writing skillswho is keen to learn about carbon.

Duties and Responsibilities
Article 6 carbon project development:
- Support the development of documentation for new Article 6 carbon projects.
- Prepare detailed applications to both African governments and buyer governments in the Global North.
- Prepare Letters of Authorization for carbon trading under Article 6.
- Support the preparation of Letters of Intent (LoIs) and Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) that align with our organization’s goals and comply with relevant carbon policy regulations.
Global Carbon Policy Analysis:
- Stay up to date with the latest developments and changes in carbon policies globally. In particular, opportunities for BURN within the compliance markets.
- Conduct in-depth research to become an expert in various aspects of carbon policy, including emerging trends, best practices, and regulatory frameworks.
- Select, summarize and present key policy developments to management.
- Maintain a database of global policy developments.
- Support the writing and publishing of white papers that showcase our thought leadership in carbon policy.
- Establish and nurture relationships with key stakeholders, ensuring our organisation’s perspectives are well-represented
Government Relationship Support:
- Support building relationships with government officials and relevant stakeholders to promote our organization’s interests in the field of carbon policy.
- Follow up with government agencies on feedback and recommendations on carbon policy matters.
- Prepare excellent presentation materials to showcase BURN to governments.
Government Consultation Responses:
- Lead the formulation and submission of comprehensive responses to government consultations on carbon-related issues.
- Review any documentation coming from stakeholder engagements to support analysis and feedback tracking and response.
- Coordinate with internal teams to gather necessary data and insights to inform well-rounded and impactful responses.
UNFCCC Negotiation Tracking:
- Monitor and track Article 6 UNFCCC negotiations, providing timely updates and analysis to the internal team.
- Stay informed about changes in carbon market regulations and ensure our organization is positioned to adapt and comply.
Skills and Experience:
Exceptional written communication skills
- It is essential that you can write persuasive and detailed application forms at a speed that is appropriate for a high-level government audience.
- Grant writing experience is desirable.
Exceptional research and analysis skills
- Demonstrated ability to digest large volumes of information, select the key points, grasp the “so what,” and present it clearly to management.
- Ability to read, understand and summarize legal documents.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct diverse analytical work.
- Experience of (or willingness to learn) the technicalities of carbon.
