Head of Revenue Assurance
JOB PURPOSE
Purpose
- Guiding a sizeable, cross-functional revenue assurance team in reporting and revenue assurance.
Scope
Revenue Assurance, General Accounting, data extraction, mining and analysis
REVENUE ASSURANCE DUTIES
- Provide thought leadership in achieving revenue optimization through proactive identification of revenue leakage and fraud exposure.
- Ensure appropriate Revenue Assurance tools are in place, Champion scoping, implementation and delivery of a robust revenue assurance system in all subsidiaries.
- Provide leadership in offering key insights in product and service performance with various dimensions e.g. segment, region, channel and country.
- Drive business growth by optimizing product performance and providing insights to business teams.
- Drive cost reduction, especially direct or product related costs to drive product, channel, and segment profitability.
- Build a fit-for-purpose revenue assurance team by ensuring the appropriate skill set is hired at the right time and within budget.
- Review compiled revenue leakage reports and communicate the same to relevant stakeholders.
- Follow up on closure of all Revenue Assurance the issues raised.
Liaise with business units on need basis on process changes to help in curbing revenue leakages.
Qualifications
REQUIRED COMPETENCE AND EXPERIENCE
Required competence.
- A Degree in Finance, IT, Commerce or related field.
- A Master’s degree in IT will be an added advantage.
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft office suite and other visualization tools such as PowerBI.
- Knowledge in the below systems would be an added advantage:
- Structured Query Language (SQL)
- Oracle systems and database
- Oracle analysis
- Power BI
- Experience in leading a team.
- Highly developed written and verbal communication and presentation skills
- Commercial awareness of the bank and the industry
Experience
- Minimum 3 years in a similar capacity
Finance Business Partner
JOB PURPOSE
- Drive financial results by partnering with assigned business units through periodic performance reviews, budgeting and planning and performance monitoring.
- Drive revenue growth and cost optimization and analysis. He/ She will provide support and challenge segment heads, sector heads and product owners to achieve EBKL’s strategic plan.
- The finance business partner will act as the key interface between Finance and business teams by developing and maintaining accurate knowledge and understanding of the products and services offered by the bank.
DUTIES
- Business Partnering
- Act as the key interface between business units and finance on all finance related decisions like budgeting, Business case analysis, contract review and negotiations, unusual! accounting support.
- Budgeting
- The finance business partner will work with assigned business unit to prepare budgets and track strategic objectives against targets.
- Ensure Capital budgets for the business units are reviewed and approved.
- Track business unit actual performance vs budget
- Support on any exceptional budget request
- Performance Management
- Work with business units to develop unit scorecard.
- Support on scorecard performance for the business unit.
- Provide insights to the business unit on customer profitability, channel profitability and product profitability.
- Identify, research, and provide information on market trends and its impact on the Business.
- Capex appraisal and Benefit Realization
- Support on business case development and approval.
- Track and measure benefit realization from implemented projects and Capex spend by the business unit against the business case projections.
- Cost management
- Drive cost optimization initiatives within the business units.
- Review contracts from the business unit to ensure accuracy of agreed scope and costs.
- Participate in contract negotiations relating to the business units.
- Product Pricing
- Advise the business unit on the best pricing point for new products and conduct review of existing product pricing.
- Any other duties that might be required to be carried out.
Qualifications

- Expert level understanding of income statement, balance sheet, margin returns, variance analysis, capital and liquidity requirements, revenues, head count analytics, and other key ratios through business engagement.
- Ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects requiring frequent communication, organization, time management, and problem-solving skills.
- Can develop relationships with a wide variety of functional roles and organizational levels to drive cross-functional initiatives involving teammates from across the organization.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Good presentation skills with ability to break down complex concepts to be easily understood across all levels.
- Familiar with financial controls.

- Minimum 5 years’ experience with at least 3 years plus experience in Finance business partnering, financial statement analysis or performance analyst.

Budget and Cost Lead
JOB PURPOSE
Purpose
- The Budget and Cost Lead will design and implement effective budgeting policies and procedures and offer suggestions on spending to optimize cost and budgets. Their responsible to ensure that the Bank achieves its target Cost to Income Ratio.
Scope
- Budget, Budget variance, cost optimization and reporting
Duties
- Working with the Finance Business Partners and Head of Business performance
- Develop overall Bank budget for the next financial year.
- Track and analyze performance vs budget across the Bank.
- Review and drive optimization across the Bank to maximize on spend vis a vis benefits.
- Attend budget meetings, work with finance team to develop budgets, anal oversee Implementation of the approved budget.
- Working with the Fixed Assets teams, track actual spend vis a vis approved budget on assets and projects. Proactively identify variances and communication. to the relevant teams.
- Working with Head Business Performance and Finance Business Partners, identify variances between actual and budgeted results at the end of each reporting period and seek remediation from the user departments.
- Any other duties that may be given from time to time.
Qualifications
REQUIRED COMPETENCE AND EXPERIENCE
Required competence.
- A degree in Finance, Economics, Commerce, or related field
- A master’s degree in economics, finance, or business administration will be an added advantage.
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft office suite especially excels and PowerPoint
- Good understanding of banking business and drivers of performance.

Head of Financial Reporting & Controls
Purpose
- Responsible for preparation and review of regulatory and statutory financial reports in a a timely manner in accordance with the regulatory requirements and International Financial Reporting Standards.
Scope
- Management & Regulatory reporting, general accounting audit support and financial analysis.
DUTIES
- Preparation and submission of per-iodic financial reports in accordance with IFRS, statutory and regulatory requirements (CBK&KDIC).
- Coordinate preparation and submission to management of daily performance reports and insights into material movement in key parameters.
- Establish and maintain effective internal controls over financial reporting process.
- Regular monitoring and review of all GLs for accuracy and appropriateness of business transactions recorded.
- Review of bank wide GL reconciliations and ensure outstanding items are investigated and cleared promptly.
- Monitor compliance with local regulatory limits and draw finance management attention for action to avoid breaches.
- Conduct impact assessment of new Standards and regulatory requirements on financial reporting.
- Liaise with the external auditor, internal auditors and market regulators in matters pertaining to audit, reporting and bank supervision.
- Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate, and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.
- Team management by offering guidance, coaching, and training to team members as well as conducting performance evaluations.
- Develop, implement and maintain internal control policies and procedures to safeguard the bank’s assets and ensure the accuracy and reliability of financial reporting.
- Any ad hoc tasks assigned by management.
Qualifications

Required competence.
- Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) majoring in accounting or equivalent degree.
- Relevant Professional Qualifications e.g., CPA (K) or ACCA.
- MBA (added advantage)
- Experience in data analysis.
- In-depth knowledge of IFRSs.
- In depth knowledge in Central Bank regulations
Experience
- At least 8 years in Finance and Financial Reporting, preferably in a bank or in the financial services industry.
Assistant Manager Financial Reporting
Purpose
- Responsible for preparing financial statements, ensuring° compliance with regulatory/ requirements by / timely preparation and submission of all regulatory returns as veil as supporting financial analysis.
Scope
- Management & Regulatory reporting, general accounting, audit support and financial analysis
DUTIES
- Preparing monthly management accounts and financial statements and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Preparing monthly ALCO presentation.
- Timely preparation and submission of all regulatory returns.
- Conduct financial analysis including trend analysis, variance analysis and performance metrics to support decision making processes.
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors to provide necessary information requests and support during audits and review of financial statements.
- Collaborate with various stakeholders including credit, treasury, IT, operations and other teams to ensure effective coordination in financial reporting activities.
- Any ad hoc tasks assigned by management.
Qualifications
REQUIRED COMPETENCE AND EXPERIENCE
Required Competence
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
- Professional certifications such as Certified Public Accountant.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Proficiency in excel and presentation skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial analysis and reporting.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
Experience,
- 4-6 y ears of relevant experience in financial reporting or audit, preferable in the banking or financial services industry.
