JOB SUMMARY:
Kenya Red Cross Training Institute (KRCTI) is seeking a dedicated individual to fill the role of Lecturer in Business Programs, common units and Counselling Coordinator. This position involves teaching business-related programs and common units, as well as coordinating counselling services and mental health support for KRCTI stakeholders.
SCOPE OF THE ROLE:
- Teach business-related programs and common units as assigned by the academic department.
- Coordinate counseling and mental Health services for KRCTI stakeholders.
- Develop and implement Mental health/counseling programs and initiatives to address the diverse needs of KRCTI stakeholders
- Provide individual and group Mental health/counseling sessions
- Collaborate with faculty, administrators, and external partners to promote mental health awareness and create a supportive environment conducive to learning and personal growth.
- Conduct assessments and evaluations to identify mental health and psychosocial support needs
- Coordinate referrals to external mental health professionals and agencies for specialized care
- Organize and facilitate workshops, seminars, and training sessions on topics related to mental health, well-being, and resilience for Kenya Red Cross Training Institute stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate records of mental health/counseling sessions, assessments, and referrals, ensuring confidentiality and adherence to ethical guidelines and professional standards.
- Stay updated on current trends, research, and best practices in counseling, mental health, and psychosocial support to inform program development and service delivery.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, CPAK or its equivalent. Master’s degree preferred.
- Training and certification as a counselor from a recognized institution, with registration with the Counsellors and Psychologists Board of Kenya (CPBK).
- 5 years of professional/academic training experience
- Previous experience in facilitating workshops/training sessions on first aid and other occupational safety programs
- Experience in providing counseling/mental health services in educational or community settings, with a focus on mental health and psychosocial support.
- Strong understanding of counseling theories, techniques, and ethical guidelines, with demonstrated skills in assessment, intervention, and case management.

Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain a road worthy vehicle by conducting routine check, making sure all defects are reported on time and ensuring the vehicle is serviced timely.
- Transporting all authorized staff to various sites and events.
- Present safety briefing to passengers prior to each trip departure.
- Monitor fuel consumption and perform minor maintenance tasks on assigned vehicles.
- Ensure goods transported are accompanied by fully approved delivery notes / waybills.
- Ensure the vehicle is fully equipped with first aid and road safety equipment’s.
- Ensure fully signed fuel receipts and delivered to Finance Office along with log sheets.
- Have a fully equipped tools kit.
- Maintain and update the Journey log for assigned vehicle.
- Updating the office of any issue regarding vehicle movement and safety.
- Maintain an accurate, up-to-date record on journey log, vehicle maintenance, incidents, accident and condition reports.
- Operate assigned vehicle in a safe and courteous manner.
- Read and Interpret Maps and driving directions as required.
Qualifications:
- Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (‘O’ Level)
- Motor vehicle Valid Driving License
- Over five (5) years relevant experience in a similar position
- Certificate of Good Conduct
- Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge
- Good Eyesight
- Automotive knowledge
