Dental Clerk
Reports: Dental In-Charge
JOB PURPOSE
The dental clerk will be responsible for all clerical work in the dental department to ensure smooth running of the department.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Answer all incoming calls, schedule appointments, and follow up on appointments.
- Is responsible for the dental reception area and ensures the patients receive the recommended and approved dental care and personal attention in a timely professional manner.
- Ensure that all appropriate documents are completed prior and after the client has received the services.
- Manage and maintain recall system, including ensuring pending appointments are confirmed, recalling dormant accounts, and completing chart audit files on all clients.
- Determine and confirm insurance coverage, assist clients on filling the requisite insurance forms, bill the patient, and ensure all preauthorization forms are filled and uploaded on the appropriate portal/system.
- Generate reports as may be required.
- Perform clerical duties including creating files, doing minutes as may be delegated, correspondence, and any other duty as may be delegated.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS/ QUALIFICATIONS
- Diploma in front office administration or its equivalent.
- Certificate in basic computer studies.
- Training on Hospital insurance packages will be an added advantage.
- At least 1 year as a receptionist/front office administrator.

Pharmaceutical Technologist
Reports: Pharmacy Manager
JOB PURPOSE
To compound, dispense and handle pharmaceutical supplies for all orders/prescriptions as well as educate patients about their medications while providing effective pharmaceutical supplies to meet customer needs.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Receive prescriptions from patients.
- Verify prescriptions and dispense drugs in a timely manner and within approved standards and procedures.
- Contact the physician immediately for inaccuracy in a prescription order, document errors and communicate them to the nursing and pharmacy staff.
- Check that every label placed on the medication contains the correct patient name, drug, quantity and directions.
- Compound medication through mixing, counting pills and labeling bottles as needed.
- Counsel patients on drug administration for optimum wellness and recovery.
- Comply and observe the environmental health and safety measures and regulations by proper handling, storage and dispensation of medications.
- Record, monitor and update the expiry list of medications in timely manner.
- Maintain and update personal drug knowledge database to ensure provision of pharmaceutical care of general disease states as well as specialized knowledge in the assigned area of expertise.
- Conduct nursing floor inspections once a month for all clinic stock, solutions and patient medication left behind.
- Consistently check and complete documentation of all patient accounts, records and files, interventions, incidents and other records kept in the department.
- Monitor that the variance levels in your stock-team are kept to a minimum and medication is always available.
- Compile monthly satellite reports.
- Carry out a quarterly stock-take exercise.
- Report any special indicators allocated.
- Participate in educational activities and departmental meetings.
- Complete any other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor or manager.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS/ QUALIFICATIONS
- Diploma in Pharmaceutical Technology from a recognized institution.
- At least 1 year relevant working experience.
- Registered with the Kenya Pharmaceutical Association or a relevant Pharmaceutical Regulating body.
- Practicing license from the Pharmacy and Poisons Board.
