Health Systems Innovation Analyst
Responsibilities
Business Development and Growth
- Support the conceptualization and development of proposals, concept notes, and expressions of interest for global health opportunities.
- Assist with capture, partner identification and development, and other business development activities for global health opportunities.
- Contribute to design and methodology development aligned with health systems and public health preparedness best practices
Technical Assistance and Project Management
- Provide technical assistance to global health projects, including field-based short-term technical assistance.
- Contribute to the development and adaptation of existing technical approaches and tools.
- Support management of learning around public health preparedness programming, approaches, and best practices.
- Provide technical contributions through articles, blogs, and presentations to USAID, clients, and peer organizations.
- Support the management of donor-funded programming
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in public health, economics, political science, international relations, or related field with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or master’s degree in public administration, public health, or related field with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
- Demonstrated experience performing business/proposal development roles for USAID-funded opportunities.
- Demonstrated knowledge of global health projects funded by USAID, CDC, or other key donors in the international development sector.
- Experience working in one or more health technical areas: health promotion and community engagement, digitalization and digital health, and/or private sector engagement.
- Demonstrated short- or long-term experience working in developing country contexts on issues relating to infectious disease prevention and control, health systems strengthening, or disease surveillance.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Experience supporting project management and administration for USG-funded programming.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines under pressure.
- Ability to work collaboratively in teams.
- Excellent knowledge of MS Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel.

Business Development Associate Director, Global Health
Responsibilities
- Lead business development activities in collaboration with technical staff within GHD, including capture and proposal development.
- Lead and/or write high priority/value proposals, concept papers, expressions of interest, etc. for work funded by USAID and other key donors and clients.
- Oversee scoping and proposal work on assigned bids to ensure development and submission of high-quality proposals.
- Support development of new business strategy and contribute to annual pipeline development using market intelligence.
- Gather and analyze market intelligence related to the GHD areas of interest, and make informed, strategic recommendations for short-, medium- and long-term business development.
- Contribute to GHD’s pipeline development and management and provide regular reporting to GHD and IDG audiences.
- Work closely with IDG teams (e.g., proposals, pricing, recruiting, editing team, contracts, and sourcing) and other RTI business partners.
- Mentor, support, oversee, and train staff on scoping and proposal development tasks.
Identify clients, key partner organizations, and staff and maintain these relationships/networks to support new business development and divisional growth. - Advance the profile and positioning of RTI and GHD with external partners, networks and stakeholders, to secure strong strategic partnerships for new opportunities.
- Identify and develop private sector engagement and cost-share alliances with private sector, foundation, and other non-governmental partners.
- Engage in intra-group and cross company collaboration and coordination efforts related to business development and strategic planning.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, public health, international relations or related field and 15 years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree in business, public health, international relations or related field and 12 years of relevant experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in business development within an international development context.
- Demonstrated experience leading and/or writing winning USAID-funded proposals.
- Proven experience scoping for, leading, designing, and writing proposals/applications for USAID-funded global health programs.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Understanding of the current market for global health and ability to gather intelligence and validation to plan for the future.
- Knowledge of funding trends and client priorities, specifically related to U.S. government-funded global health programs.
- Strong coordination and collaboration skills, with proven experience applied in international context.

Industry Outreach and Engagement
- Supports collaborative working relationships with USAID technical staff, strategic partners, and stakeholders, and continually promotes outstanding client service and technical leadership.
- Supports development and delivery of demand-driven training courses, learning resources, knowledge sharing events, and ad-hoc technical discussions for internal and external audiences.

- In collaboration with Division Leadership, provides demand-driven technical support to projects in the technical portfolio, such as serving as a thought partner to help solve specific technical implementation challenges or facilitating access to other technical and cross-cutting expertise to support implementation of innovative or integrated approaches.
- Researches cutting-edge tools, frameworks, or approaches available within the industry for potential project use.
- Contributes technical expertise to specific writing assignments (e.g. blog posts, reports, impact stories) as identified by clients.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree and 18 years of relevant experience, Master’s degree and 14 years of relevant experience, or PhD and 10 years of relevant experience.
- Minimum 8 years of professional experience in global health, with demonstrated experience leading or supporting USAID-funded health systems strengthening and/or integrated care projects.
- Experience and demonstrated success in building capacity of emerging market counterparts and stakeholders.
