Temporary Office Assistant
TEMPORARY OFFICE ASSISTANT – 1 POSITION
The job holder will be reporting to the Senior Officer- Administration and will be responsible for ensuring all the support services in the Authority are fully operational and both external and internal customers are attended to.
Contract Period: Six (6) Months Fixed Term Contract
The key responsibilities for the position:
- Prepare and serve refreshments and snacks to staff and external visitors;
- Ensure hygiene and safety in the Kitchenette, staff Lounge and utensils;
- Perform caretaker’s duties;
- Deliver mail and other correspondence as required;
- Check and report on the cleanliness of offices and washrooms;
- Perform reception duties when called upon to do so; and
- Implement Quality Management System standards and continuously identify and manage risks.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
- Secondary School Certificate (KCSE/KCE).
- KCSE D+(PLUS) or its equivalent and
- At least 1 year experience would be an added advantage.

Temporary Assistant – Licensing
TEMPORARY ASSISTANT-LICENSING – 1 POSITION
Contract Period: Six (6) Months Fixed Term Contract
Reporting to the Manager, Licensing the selected candidate will be responsible for:
- Reviewing applications for licensing of market institutions and intermediaries, including securities exchanges, over the counter (OTC) platforms, central securities depositories, central counter parties (CCPs) and other market infrastructures;
- Reviewing applications for recognition as SROs;
- Proactively engaging applicants, potential candidates for licensing and other stakeholders with a view of facilitating the licensing process within the Regulatory Framework and applicable standards;
- Liaise with the Market Supervision Department to carry out due diligence about the appointment of proposed directors and key personnel of market intermediaries;
- Reviewing relevant notices, announcements and advertisements by licensed entities and making recommendations of their suitability for publication;
- Conducting research in matters affecting the development and changes in the Kenyan capital markets institutional arrangement in liaison with relevant stakeholders
- Keeping and updating databases relating to applications for licensing
- Updating the status of all outstanding licensing applications received by the division, in liaison with officers from other divisions in the department
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Law
- Minimum of one year of relevant experience will be an added advantage.

Temporary Assistant-Commodities
TEMPORARY ASSISTANT – COMMODITIES – 1 POSITION
Contract Period: Six (6) Months Fixed Term Contract.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Commodities, the selected candidate will be responsible for:
- Undertaking surveys and on-desk studies to inform formulation of policies and regulations to aid in establishment of the commodities markets in Kenya;
- Undertaking assessments to inform necessary commodity trading infrastructure, including warehousing facilities to support the establishment of the commodities market;
- Providing input for the development of draft legal, regulatory and institutional framework for the spot commodities market;
- Promoting the efficiency and development of the components of the commodities market through the establishment of the appropriate institutional linkages and partnerships;
- Providing input to internal and external capacity building programs including undertaking logistical arrangements and reports writing;
- Providing input for the development of draft relevant guidelines on design and development of spot commodities markets contracts; and
- Support in Implementing the Authority’s Quality Management System within the Section.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Agribusiness, Agricultural Economics, business, finance or any relevant field; and
- A minimum of one year of relevant experience will be an added advantage.
