Director, Information, Advocacy and Communication

The Position is responsible for providing strategic leadership and direction in conducting public education and awareness of Kenya’s Nuclear Power programme and corporate communications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Formulate and implement programs to raise awareness of the Agency’s mandate and advocate for nuclear power development through strategic partnerships and public engagement.
  • Guide the planning and execution of stakeholder meetings, forums, and sensitization activities to promote awareness of Kenya’s nuclear power program.
  • Develop and maintain local and international partnerships with media and private organizations to enhance public advocacy and communication efforts.
  • Oversee the Agency’s corporate branding, brand positioning, publications, and messaging strategies to ensure alignment with strategic goals.
  • Manage the development and maintenance of the Agency’s web presence, digital marketing efforts, and content strategy across websites, apps, and social media platforms.

Academic and Professional Qualifications

Applicants must posses the following minimum qualifications:

  • Hold a Master’s Degree in Communication, Public Relations, Media Studies or any other relevant field from a recognized university;
  • Hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication, Public Relations, Media Studies or any other relevant field from a recognized university;
  • Must have at least twelve (12) years relevant work experience with at least eight (8) years in a senior management position; and
  • Be a member of Public Relations Society of Kenya (PRSK) or a relevant professionalbody in good standing; and
  • Certificate in leadership course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution.

Manager, Supply Chain

The position is responsible for providing the overall strategic management of supply chain activities; procurements, contracts, disposal processes, inventory control, asset management and to render procurement professional advice to the Agency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership in developing and implementing procurement policies, strategies, and procedures, ensuring compliance with the Public Procurement and Asset Disposal Act, 2015, and related regulations.
  • Advise the Accounting Officer (CEO) on procurement matters and oversee the procurement of goods, services, and works while ensuring adherence to legal and regulatory frameworks.
  • Establish effective partnerships, monitor supplier performance, coordinate supplier prequalification and appraisal, manage procurement contracts and strategic supplier frameworks.
  • Ensure maintenance of approved stock levels, conduct regular stock takes, and oversee the disposal of obsolete assets in accordance with PPAD act, 2015.
  • Liaise with the National Treasury, Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (PPRA), and other stakeholders, while promoting public procurement policies and best practices.

Academic and Professional Qualifications

  • Hold a Master’s degree in Purchasing and Supplies Management or any other relevant field from a recognized university;
  • Hold a Bachelors’ Degree in Purchasing and Supplies Management or any other relevant field from a recognized university;
  • Must have at least ten (10) years relevant work experience with at least five (5) years in senior management;
  • Be a Certified Procurement and Supply Professional (CPSP) or Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS);
  • Be a member of Kenya Institute of Supplies Management (KISM) or Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) in good standing;
  • Possess a valid Practicing License from Kenya Institute of Supplies Management; and

The position is responsible for ensuring legal and regulatory compliance for the Nuclear Power Programme and implementation of legal requirements, conducting compliance audits, managing, preparing and reviewing contracts:

 Key Responsibilities

  • Identifying and initiating development of regulations to cover gaps in the currentvlegal and regulatory framework on nuclear technology;
  • Formulating and drafting policies, procedures and guidelines on relevant the nuclear power programme;
  • Developing a proper monitoring mechanism to evaluate the compliance to various nuclear laws and regulations;
  • Reviewing draft policies on all aspect of nuclear technology application;
  • Attending court/judicial proceedings where the Agency is an interested party.
  • Maintaining and updating the Register of Conflict of Interest;
  • Ensuring that Agency’s Annual returns are promptly filed with relevant Authorities;

Academic and Professional Qualifications

  • The position is responsible for reviewing the Agency’s business processes and evaluate the efficacy of risk management procedures and internal controls that are currently in place and recommend improvements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Reviewing the effectiveness of the existing internal control systems and procedures and making recommendations.
  • Conducting risk-based audits.
  • Preparing audit reports for presentation to the management and the audit committee of the Board and ensuring implementation of arising recommendations.
