Communications Manager

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Communication & Implementation

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive communication strategy aligned with TAF’s mission and objectives.
  • Create and manage the organizational Communications Calendar, ensuring timely execution of campaigns and key messages.
  • Develop media relations strategies to position TAF as a leader in disability rights advocacy.
  • Ensure consistent branding and messaging across all communication materials, publications, and digital platforms.

Content Creation & Storytelling

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Media Studies, or a related field.

Policy and Advocacy Manager

Job Summary

The Policy and Advocacy Manager will advance The Action Foundation’s (TAF) mission to create an inclusive, accountable, gender-responsive, and equitable environment for Children and Youth with Disabilities (CYWDs). This role involves strengthening effective relationships with government stakeholders at county and national levels to further program and policy change goals. It requires a deep understanding of Kenya’s government structures, policies, and processes, with a proven track record of successful advocacy in health, inclusive education, and social protection. The manager will work cross-departmentally, collaborating closely with senior management and the wider TAF team while strictly adhering to TAF’s child protection guidelines.

Key Responsibilities
Policy Advocacy and Thought Leadership

  • Collaborate with the Policy and Advocacy Director to implement TAF’s systems change strategy.
  • Monitor national policy developments and foster relationships with key stakeholders, including policymakers, civil society organizations,
  • Organizations of Persons with Disabilities, and media.
  • Develop policy papers and positions on critical National topics on disability inclusion using data-driven insights.
  • Identify key advocacy opportunities and conduct power analysis to inform strategies.
  • Collaborate with program implementation teams to develop advocacy briefs and reports for strategic communications.
  • Engage in policy dialogue to promote the rights of children and youth with disabilities
  • Contribute to knowledge sharing and capacity-building initiatives to enhance the understanding of disability issues among stakeholders.

Producing Advocacy Products

  • Develop messaging for national and regional advocacy issues and priorities.
  • Ensure that all advocacy messages, documents, and strategies are evidence-based, drawn from field experience and assessments, highly quality, and effective.

External Engagement and Influencing

Qualifications & Experience

  • A Bachelor’s degree in political science, public policy, social sciences, international relations, or a related field; a master’s degree is preferred.
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in policy analysis, advocacy, or development work related to disability issues.
  • Strong understanding of national and international policies and frameworks related to disability rights and inclusion.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.

Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning Manager

Job Summary

The Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) Manager will lead the development and implementation of MEL systems and strategies across The Action Foundation’s programs. The role will ensure effective data collection, analysis, reporting, and knowledge management to enhance program performance, impact measurement, and learning. The MEL Manager will work closely with program teams, partners, and stakeholders to build a culture of data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement. The role also provides technical guidance on research, evaluations, and assessments while ensuring compliance with donor reporting requirements and best practices in MEL.

Key Responsibilities
Strategy and Planning

  • Lead the development, management, and periodic updating of MEL tools, strategies, frameworks, and systems, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Coordinate MEL activities’ design, implementation, and reporting across programs to track outcomes, impact, and effectiveness.
  • Ensure gender-responsive MEL approaches by integrating gender-sensitive indicators and disaggregated data into analysis and reporting.
  • Provide technical support for progress tracking, reviewing project approaches, and recommending adjustments based on data insights.
  • Implement quality assurance and control mechanisms to maintain data accuracy, internal consistency, and validity in monitoring and evaluation processes.

Qualifications & Experience

Education & Knowledge

  • Master’s degree in Monitoring & Evaluation, Social Sciences, Development Studies, Public Health, Statistics, or a related field.

Experience & Competencies

  • 5-8 years of progressive experience in MEL roles within non-profit, development, or humanitarian organizations.
  • Demonstrated expertise in designing and implementing MEL systems for development programs, particularly in disability inclusion, education, health, or economic empowerment.
  • Experience with quantitative and qualitative research methodologies, including survey design, focus group discussions, and key informant interviews.
  • Proficiency in data management and visualization tools (such as Excel, Power BI, SPSS, Stata, NVivo, or other relevant software).
  • Strong experience in donor reporting and compliance with international funding partners.
  • Experience working with marginalized populations, particularly persons with disabilities, is an advantage
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.

Human Resources and Administration Associate

Job Summary

The HR and Administrative Officer will be responsible for overseeing and managing the organization’s human resources and administrative functions. This role entails supporting the recruitment process, employee relations, office management, consultant engagement, and compliance with organizational policies. Key Responsibilities
Human Resource Management
