Human Resource Officer

Job Description

  • The Human Resource Officer is responsible for the overall delivery of quality services to IRC staff members as regards personnel administration, salary and benefits administration, recruitment, field support and employee relations.

Key Tasks.

Personnel Administration

  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of IRC personnel policies and assist the Human Resource Manager in ensuring employee adherence.
  • Assist the HR Manager in the interpretation and implementation of the full range of IRC’s policies and procedures.

Field Support

Key Tasks:

Talent Acquisition:

Safety and Security Assistant

Job Description

  • The Safety and Security Assistant will assist the Safety and Security Officer (SSO) in building up the capacity, awareness, and preparedness of staff to deal with security-related risks, threats, and incidents through the delivery of high quality, regular training/ briefings to national staff and IRC visitors in the field sites when deemed necessary. 
  • The Safety and Security Assistant will support the SSO in delivering the required training to field-based staff, ensuring refresher training are carried out for all staff in accordance with a pre-determined schedule.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensuring that key security messages are conveyed to IRC staff and visitors in accordance with the Preparedness, Prevention, Response and Recovery Plan (PPRR).
  • Conduct security briefing sessions to all Dadaab based staff as well as IRC visitors where relevant.
  • To develop and carry out a regular schedule of refresher trainings for key staff involved in security and communications (i.e., radio operators, guards, drivers, and other operations staff).
  • To conduct visits to IRC site offices in the Dadaab areas, supporting field-based staff in gaining greater awareness and being better prepared in dealing with prevailing security risks, threats, and incidents.

Finance Assistant

Job Description

  • The Finance Assistant has responsibility for supporting the finance functions for the IRC Kenya to adhere to IRC policies and procedures as well as donor compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Payment processing

  • Ensure all payments shared with finance are processed timely through follow-up for timely authorizations of payment requests in line with the approved limits per the delineation chart.
  • Give attention to detail while processing payments to ensure accuracy of financial data.
  • Ensure all program advances are accounted for as per advance policy.
  • Share remittance advice with supply chain for all processed vendor payments.

Banking

  • Perform banking roles such as cash depositing and collection.

Bank Reconciliation

  • Prepare cash and bank accounts monthly and submit for approval.

Filing

  • Maintain an organized and well-documented (all files must be labeled properly and visibly) and sequential filing system for all processed payments.

Cash flow management

  • Check all the bank statements regularly for any receipts and other peculiar items and notify your supervisor accordingly.

Job Description

  • The position holder is responsible for the technical oversight, implementation, monitoring, and regular consultation with project stakeholders on hygiene and promotion interventions. Ensure complementarity with other sectorial interventions, i.e. Health, Nutrition, DRR and livelihood as well as proper coordination, consultation and information sharing with partners and other stakeholders.

  • The WASH Hygiene officer shall be responsible for the technical aspects of hygiene and sanitation promotion. S/he shall be responsible for planning, design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of high quality, innovative Hygiene and Promotion interventions. WATSAN Officer

Job Description

  • The role of WATSAN Officer is to ensure successful implementation and supervision of community-based water supply and sanitation interventions in the target areas. Additionally, this position will support development of staff and community capacity building in water supply and sanitation operation, maintenance, and management, participate in mobilization of WASH resources and ensure implementation is done in close collaboration with program staff, the local community, the Local authority and other relevant agencies. The role will also involve to a large-scale technical designs of various WASH infrastructures, estimation of costs, support development of tender documents, bid review and evaluations, and general construction contract management and discharge in accordance with IRC and GoK acceptable standards and specifications. During implementation of the project’s activities, the Officer will be required to provide feedback to relevant project partners and the Local authorities with an aim of improving overall WASH program quality.

  • The WATSAN Officer will identify and assess the key needs of WASH facilities and services to be addressed and whom to engage and develop an appropriate implementation strategy to either construct, rehabilitate or repair such facilities.
