Assistant Manager – Quality

As Assistant Manager, Quality, you will be responsible for ensuring product quality for our flagship product, the two burner ethanol cooker and refillable canister. The role is a two-fold responsibility, with heavy involvement on the supplier quality front, as well as being a senior member of our production quality assurance and quality control team. You will be working out of our world-class manufacturing facility, based out of Sanand, Ahmedabad and join a highly qualified quality team who have taken the unique product from conceptulisation upto large scale manufacturing.
Supplier quality
- Maintain Complete record of the supplier activities such as performance, delivery, quality and improvement log
- Alternate or new supplier pre qualitfication audit’s at supplier’s site
- Coordinate the PPAP,APQP,PSW,FMEA activities for new /alternative supplier parts
- Perform and monitor the Pilot batch qualification for Factory (03 lots) for new supplier
- Ensure all Engineering changes and DCN are timely updated at vendor’s database.
- Carry out supplier and sub-supplier validation audits, with supplier support and supplier advanced product quality planning (APQP).
- Perform on-site supplier visits for root cause analysis and verification of corrective actions of supplier quality issues
- Monitor and report on supplier product quality and performance understanding any commercial issues and impacts
- Manage the supplier PPM, supplier problem solving on time, cost recovery and supplier warranty indicators
- Review and evaluate supplier quality data to identify process improvement opportunities within the supply chain
QA-QC
- Promote the use of preferred techniques for continuous improvement such as Lean, Six-Sigma, Poka-Yoke, MSA,SPC and FMEA
- Ensure planned audit is being carried out for all suppliers as per ISO requirements.
- Ensure process and product requirements are being verified as per drawings, control plan and work instructions.
- Drive root cause analysis and problem resolution for critical and repeated issues which impact the production line.
- Drive FMEA activities for the entire products.(child parts to assembly)
- Drive SPC & MSA implementation across the plant.
- Collaborate with cross functionals on Supplier Approval activities for new product /supplier development projects.
- Carry out risk analysis for contract manufacturing parts during project development.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience with large scale OEMs
- BE from a reputed institution
- Well versed in 8D, FMEA, SPC, MSA
- Relevant experience in setting up QMS from ground up
- Experience in developiong quality management features in ERP systems

Assistant Manager – Production Planning and Control
Responsibilities
- Plan equipment, material and manpower requirements to meet production schedule
- Plan, schedule and monitor material movement in production cycle to ensure continuous operations
- Effectively organizes resources and activities to deal with short-term concerns
- Schedule shifts according to production needs
- Releasing/Closing MOs/Wos, as per production forcast
- Plan production control activities to improve uptime while maintaining high quality, timely delivery & cost-effectiveness
- Work with SCM department in material planning and analysis to reduce inventory level
- Perform inventory management
- Monitor inventory levels of FG and Raw material and making adjustments to reduce slow moving and obsolete inventory
- Work in close coordination with SCM & Finance to ensure material uptime for production
- Collating forecasts and proposing an optimal procurement plan for the month
- Work with QA and Production departments for material reconciliation
- Uses analysis of historical data and current trends to make meaningful projections and forecasts
- Prepare monthly MIS report
Skills required
- Knowledge of Functional application software (ERP/SAP)
- TPM or Lean Manufacturing Experience strongly preferred.
- Well versed with Sheet metal and Injection moulding operations
- Effective Communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Minimum qualifications

Back End Engineer (SRE)
Your Role
As KOKO grows within and outside Kenya, our team is looking for experienced backend engineers to join the Site Reliability Engineering Team and contribute towards the development & scaling of our cloud-based software products, be responsible for technical decisions associated, and be accountable for their successful execution.
SREs build, run & manage large-scale, distributed, fault-tolerant systems. Additionally, they keep an ever-watchful eye on our system’s capacity and performance. Much of our software development focuses on optimizing existing systems, strengthening security, building infrastructure, and eliminating work through automation.
In this position, you’ll have the opportunity to contribute to many external and internal facing products. KOKO’s suite of products spans multiple technical domains and disciplines in software and hardware, and so experience in end-to-end systems thinking across distributed components is key for this role.
What You Will Do
- Actively contribute to building and deploying software applications to increase reliability and resiliency.
- Help services go live and maintain in production by working with other Backend and DevOps engineers in the team
- Work alongside other engineers on the team to elevate technology and consistently apply best practices.
- Help others to improve the quality of their work through regular design and code reviews
- Practice sustainable incident response and blameless postmortem.
- You will be part of an on-call rotation consisting of SREs and Engineers but you are not required to solve every infrastructure problem. Our entire engineering team practices a Dev-Ops culture and owns their respective services.
What you will bring to KOKO
- At least two years of experience developing applications at enterprise scale using the front and back-end technologies in our stack
- Ability to develop robust and scalable backend services defined by RESTful APIs in Python
- Familiarity with Cloud/ SaaS architectures and how to build secure and maintainable services
- Knowledge about CI/CD and Orchestration tools.
- Strong understanding of unit testing, design patterns, and usage of tools like profilers
- Experience with source control and continuous integration tools (We use GIT and Jenkins)
- Worked in an Agile multi-functional team
- Thrive in an environment that requires you to partner with multiple cross-functional teams as stakeholders/customers
- Great oral and written communication skills
