Graphics and Animation Intern

Job Purpose:

  • To support the transition to visual member communication
  • To support internal and external marketing and communication campaigns.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Create an array of promotional graphic packages that can be advertised on web platforms, social media accounts, email campaigns, and stadium boards.
  • Conceptualize and design unique social graphics for quick-turn scenarios, such as milestones and transactions.
  • Maintain and implement the KAM’s creative guidelines on all projects for brand consistency.
  • Collaborate with the Creative Content team to brainstorm content ideas, activations, and other storytelling engagements.
  • Any other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements & Personal Attributes

  • A diploma / degree in Graphic design and Animation, advertising, video production, or other related disciplines.
  • Sound knowledge in computer skills, still graphics, video editing, and animation software (Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Lightroom, After Effects; Adobe Creative
  • Suite; Final Cut Pro X editing skills or Adobe Premiere); Adobe After Effects; Adobe Creative Suite; Final Cut Pro X editing skills (or Adobe Premiere);
  • Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom
  • Production of still graphics, animated content, motion graphics and infographics;
  • Recording broadcast/professional quality video and audio;
  • Knowledge of lighting;
  • Knowledge of different video formats and file conversions from multiple formats;

Terms of Reference for Monitoring and Evaluation Expert

  • The WIM Programme aims to grow, challenge, and mentor women-owned industries to scale up and to enhance the abilities of women to take up leadership positions and significant roles in the sector. The Programme targets women entrepreneurs to provide them with networks, skills, and knowledge to access markets, expand their current businesses, and venture into diverse sectors. It further looks at bridging the gaps that make it difficult for our country to realize its industrialization vision and economic goals.

Project Objectives
The WIM Programme is running a one-year project to enhance the competitiveness of Kenyan Women in manufacturing through interventions towards inclusivity and participation at the counties, regional and national levels. The project objectives are:

  • To provide county level, regional, national platforms (conferences) to canvas and elevate feminist issues.
  • To develop and provide learning materials and other services to advance women issues.
  • To celebrate women achievements including enablers and champions for feminist development agenda.
  • To strengthen the Women in manufacturing platform to highlight WIM issues in KAM and the industry.

Assignment Scope
KAM seeks a consultant who will conduct the following activities:

  • Work closely with the project team and stakeholders to clarify monitoring and evaluation needs and objectives.
  • Develop a detailed monitoring and evaluation plan, including clear indicators, data sources, and methodologies.
  • Implement baseline assessments and periodic evaluations to measure the impact of e-learning programs on women’s empowerment.
  • Establish a robust data management system to collect, analyze, and report on project data.
  • Provide technical assistance and capacity building to project staff and partners on monitoring and evaluation methodologies.
  • Prepare and present timely and accurate reports to project stakeholders, highlighting key findings, trends, and recommendations.

Methodology

  • Engage with project team members and stakeholders to understand their monitoring and evaluation needs, ensuring alignment with project objectives. Develop a monitoring and evaluation plan. Conduct baseline assessment and periodic evaluations and endline evaluation of the whole project. Set up a robust data management system to collect, store, analyze, and report project data efficiently. Prepare timely and accurate reports summarizing key findings, trends, and recommendations based on the collected data.

Key Deliverables
Deliverables for this project include:

  • Baseline assessment and endline assessment evaluation reports.
  • A monitoring plan for the project.
  • Tools to monitor the project.
  • Progress reports, including qualitative and quantitative data analysis.
  • Recommendations for adjustments to project strategies based on monitoring and evaluation findings.

Skills and Competencies

  • Five years of experience in monitoring, evaluation and learning of projects.
  • Advanced degree in monitoring and evaluation, statistics, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in designing and implementing monitoring and evaluation systems for gender-focused projects.
  • Familiarity with e-learning programs and their impact on women’s empowerment.
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills.

The Assignment

  • Kenya leads the Gender based violence Action Coalition. Since the global acceptance of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action, Kenya has made significant strides in promoting gender equality and empowering women and girls. Notable achievements encompass, among others, the implementation of policy and legal frameworks addressing Gender-Based Violence (GBV) and advancements in women’s re Despite these advancements, challenges persist as women and girls encounter discrimination, exclusion, and inequality across various economic, social, and political domains. Moreover, in as much as there exist many legal instruments addressing GBV, many organizations are not gender aware nor conform to the policies in place. At times GBV policies are merged or confused with sexual harassment policies. Hence a need for organizations to be made aware of the GBV policies in place and women be trained to be self-aware of issues regarding GBV.

Assignment Scope

  • The consultant/expert will conduct the following activities:
  • Review of the gender policies and frameworks in Kenya
  • Review of the gender policy training content provided by KAM

Methodology

  • The project will require the consultant to review the available materials provided for the project to align it to the Kenyan context.

Key Deliverables
Deliverables for this project include:

  • Comprehensive review report of the GBV training content provided.
  • Recommendations for enhancing the gender policy training content, including suggestions for updates, additions, or modifications to better address the needs of stakeholders and promote gender equality and inclusivity

Skills and Competencies

  • At least 7 years of experience in research, management or implementation of gender programs, sexual and reproductive health or policy and advocacy.
  • Have a background in law with at least a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) with 5 years of experience.
  • Must be a registered advocate of the High Court of Kenya and in good standing.
  • Must have a valid Practicing License.
  • At least 5 years of direct experience in leading research projects with a bias in gender.
  • Strong understanding of the Kenyan GBV policies.
  • Strong understanding of the socio-cultural context in Kenya.
  • Proven research, analytical and scientific writing skills, as evidenced by an extensive track record of peer-reviewed scientific publication in sexual and reproductive health and rights (within the past 5 years).
  • Excellent skills and ability to manage and work in diverse teams
  • Support in conducting literature searches and reviews and support with ethics review submissions
  • Support in writing project deliverables, including reports, and publications

The Assignment
In line with the above, KAM seeks to engage a consultant/expert who will conduct the following activities:

  • Develop sexual harassment policy framework.
  • Offer Advisory/Training on gender-sensitive topics including:
  • Prevention/elimination of gender violence.
  • Prevention of sexual harassment.
  • Unbiased recruitment practices.
  • Support companies to develop sexual harassment policies.

Methodology

  • The project will require the consultants to develop content for the trainings relying on existing policies in Kenya. The consultant will host virtual engagements with WSMES on developing and implementing SGBV policies, where they do not exist. The consultant shall develop a draft framework of sexual harassment policy.

Key Deliverables
Deliverables for this project include:

  • Sexual harassment policy framework.
  • Training guides/tools and manual covering prevention/elimination of gender violence, prevention of sexual harassment, and unbiased recruitment practices.

Skills and Competencies

  • At least 7 years of experience in research, management, or implementation of gender programs, sexual and reproductive health, or policy and advocacy.
  • Have a background in law with at least a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) with 5 years of experience.
