Monitoring and Evaluation Assistant

Responsibilities 

  • Support the M&E Officer to provide leadership and accountability in management of the M&E function within the project and support implementation of the project work plan.
  • Support the continued operationalizion of the project’s M&E system and structures for internal and external audiences that guide effective decision-making by the project team
  • Support project reporting process to internal CMMB’s systems locally and globally, donors and government including preparation of monthly, quarterly, and semi-annual progress reports as well as data audits and responding donor inquiries.
  • Conduct regular field visits to ensure quality of data collected by the project team and verify the accuracy of reported data.
  • Build the capacity of the project team and support them in accurate collection of performance data, data capture, analysis, utilization, and archiving.
  • Lead and strengthen quality control of data to assure the integrity of data for analysis, tracking, and validation.
  • Work closely with the project teams initiate effective work plan and burn rate tracking measures to routinely assess and provide feedback on the progress of delivery of key project deliverables.
  • Contribute to the development and adoption of a framework for proper documentation and effective maintenance of records for projects initiatives that ensure processes, activities and statistics are well captured and records kept in line with established policy and protocols
  • Participate in M&E technical working groups at the county level as is relevant to the project interventions.
  • Contribute to resource mobilization initiatives through provision of appropriate data and information as might be required for development of concept papers and proposals.
  • Ensure a working environment of mutual trust, respect, and care with other staff, encouraging effective teamwork with staff members and partners.

Qualifications 

  • You have a bachelor’s degree in Monitoring and Evaluation, Statistics, Social sciences, or related field.
  • You have at least 3 years’ working experience in monitoring, evaluation and learning within a Public Health focused NGO.
  • You have Practical experience in use of data analysis tools like STATA or SPSS and advanced Excel.
  • You can design M &E tools,surveys, surveillance systems and evaluations.
  • You have experience with data form design, collection, and data entry
  • You have experience with data management and analysis
  • You are an excellent analytical and detail-oriented individual with experience in data management.
  • You have strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds
  • You have demonstrated ability to train and build capacity both at individual and team level.
  • You have excellent report writing skills.
  • Experience with TB programs and reporting is an added advantage

Project Assistant- Malaria (Nyamira)

Responsibilities 
Project Management: 

  • Participate in planning of project activities and set high quality performance targets, ensuring adherence to technical standards, best practices, and donor guidelines.
  • Review and track progress of project implementation and utilization of project resources, using participatory processes to overcome implementation obstacles.
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation related to project monitoring and implementation, including up-to-date performance data on the malaria indicators being tracked by the project. 
  • Ensure a working environment of mutual trust, respect, and care with other staff, encouraging effective teamwork with staff members and partners.
  • Identification, recruitment, and retention of beneficiariesBudget and Financial Management: 
  • Ensure that project activities comply with CMMB financial guidelines, policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • In collaboration with the finance teams and supporting the project officers, ensure timely payments of project beneficiaries and provide liquidation reports.
  • Participate in the preparation of annual project budgets, quarterly and monthly budgets.Monitoring, Accountability, Evaluation and Learning: 
  • Use appropriate project management tools to plan, review and track project progress on project implementation.
  • Promote innovative/effective methods towards achievement of project objectives.
  • Support documentation processes of project success stories, best practices, lessons learnt and other project innovations and learnings.
  • Mentor the community health volunteers towards implementation of community case management of malaria and malaria in pregnancy interventions.

Qualifications

  • You have a bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Community Health, or related field
  • You have at least 3 years in Community Health work within a public health focused Non-GovernmentalOrganization.
  • You have experience in implementing Health interventions among various sub populations including pregnant women.
  • You understand the community case management of malaria and malaria in pregnancy interventions
  • You have impressive community mobilization experience
  • You have an extensive understanding of the Community Health Strategy and working with the various structures under the same.
  • Experience in the implementation of Global Fund Malaria Grants is an added advantage
  • Your analytical and writing skills are very good
  • You have experience working with Microsoft Word, Excel and have data analysis software skills

Project Officer- Malaria

Responsibilities 
Technical Support & Management 

  • Providing support to the planning, implementation, management, and monitoring of community malaria activities within the supported community health units
  • Assisting in providing technical expertise and support during training of Community Health Volunteers (CHVs).
  • Ensuring that activities geared towards community level management of malaria activities are effectively supervised.
  • Planning for regular opportunities to identify lessons learnt and opportunities for documentation of the project’s work.Coordination and representation 
  • Providing overall planning and coordination in training, reporting and supervision visits
  • Liaising with key partners including County Sub County Health Management Teams, local leaders, other NGO partners, and other stakeholders (as necessary) to provide synergy for project activities
  • Attending malaria and community health services related technical working groups and stakeholder meetings at the county, sub county and community.Administrative and Other Duties 
  • Providing monthly written reports to the Program Manager on the progress towards the project’s annual objectives; identifying areas for improvement and those requiring follow-up.
  • Working with the finance department to prepare financial requests and ensure the timely liquidation and reporting of expenditure
  • Any other duties as required by the line managerDocumentation
  • Compilation of activity reports and success stories for inclusion in the qualitative and quantitative reports submitted to Country Office and contributing to the other reports as required.

Qualifications

  • You have a bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences, Public Health, Social Sciences or Community Health.
  • You have a minimum of at least 4 years’ experience in an NGO set up implementing community malaria programs. 
  • You have experience working with health service delivery professionals (e.g. Community Health Workers, health care workers)
  • You have experience with planning, implementing, managing, and/or monitoring and reporting of malaria initiatives
  • You have strong project management skills, as evidenced by impressive academic or professional results
  • You are highly organized, flexible, and adaptable to changing priorities and able to work well under deadlines with minimum supervision
  • You have excellent computer skills using MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook—You must have demonstrable ability to format documents, prepare charts and manipulate data
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills to include conflict resolution, priority management, and managing expectations of multiple clients
