Training of KCSE Examiners

The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) will train examiners for the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examination between 18th and 24th August 2024.

The training fee is Kshs 10,500 and will ONLY be made by the shortlisted applicants who will be notified through a text message (SMS) and the portal on how to make the payment.

The venue for training will be communicated to the qualified applicants before the training. All the trainees will be required to strictly adhere to KNEC COVID-19 rules.

KNEC will thereafter engage such examiners using the criteria for recruitment of examiners based on the performance of examiners during the training.

Applicants who are already trained KNEC examiners and are in the KNEC database of examiners need not apply.

2.0 CRITERIA FOR TRAINING AS AN EXAMINER

2.1 General requirements for all the trainee examiners:

2.1.1 Must be a practicing teacher in the relevant subject areas at the level of examination.
2.1.2 Must be registered and/or employed by the Teachers Service Commission (TSC).
2.1.3 Have a minimum qualification of a Diploma in Education (and above).
2.1.4 Have a minimum teaching experience of three (3) years.
2.1.5 Must NOT be on interdiction or any other form of disciplinary action by the TSC.
2.1.6 Must be recommended by his/her head of institution.
2.1.7 Must be 50 years of age and below.

3.0 APPLICATION PROCEDURE

3.1 Applicants are required to do the following:

3.1.1 Access the KNEC examiners’ portal using the link: https://examinersapp.knec.ac.ke
3.1.2 Those with Cp2 accounts should log in to the portal using their username and password.
3.1.3 Those who have forgotten their Cp2 passwords should click on reset password button and enter their mobile number to get new passwords for logging into the system.
3.1.4 Those without Cp2 account should click on create an account and follow the instructions to create a profile.
3.1.5 Upon successful login, complete their personal profile and upload all the required documents, including:
a. Recent coloured passport photograph.
b. Certified copies of academic and professional certificates.
c. National ID.
d. KRA Pin Certificate.

The training fees should not be paid until successful applicants are notified to do so by the Council.

The Kenya National Examinations Council reserves the right to accept or reject any application.

Only shortlisted applicants will be notified on the venue and the date of training.
