ICT Security Officers – 2 Posts
Job Purpose
This position is critical for safeguarding the organization’s information assets and maintaining a secure environment.
Job Specifications
The duties and responsibilities of the officers will entail: –
- Maintaining an updated IT Security Manual;
- Regularly verifying operating systems on company clients and servers (both on- premises and in the cloud) are up to date;
- Conducting risk assessments to identify potential security threats and vulnerabilities; Implementing strategies to mitigate risks and enhance overall security posture; Defining and enforcing security policies and procedures across the organization; Ensuring compliance with industry standards and legal requirements; Establishing an incident response plan to handle security incidents effectively; Investigating and responding to security breaches, unauthorized access, and data breaches;
- Conducting regular training sessions to enhance security awareness;
- Implementing strong authentication mechanisms (e.g., multi-factor authentication); Addressing findings and recommendations from audits;
- Monitoring network traffic, logs, and security events and generating regular security reports for management;
- Evaluating the security practices of third-party vendors and service providers;
- Collaborating with teams to develop disaster recovery and business continuity plans;
- Implementing encryption protocols to protect sensitive data; and
- Ensuring data privacy and compliance with relevant regulations.
Person Specifications
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have: –
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or equivalent qualification from a recognized Institution;
- Minimum KCSE C+ (plus) or its equivalent from a recognized Institution;
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CISA, CISSP, CISM, CompTIA Security+, etc.) will be an added advantage;
- Proficiency in usage of security tools and technologies, such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and vulnerability management tools; and
- Fulfilled the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.

Senior Legal Officer
Job Purpose:
This position is responsible for implementing legal services in the Institute.
Job Specifications
The duties and responsibilities of the officer will entail:-
- Providing legal advice to ensure the best legal approach is taken by the Institute;
- Drafting contracts, agreements and other legal documents;
- Undertaking research on different information to ensure the Institute is acting in accordance with all applicable laws;
- Assisting in preparing Board reports and minutes, and resolutions,
- Identifying legal and compliance risks and issues relative to the Institute’s intended actions;
- Assisting in managing the risk exposure of the Institute by ensuring compliance with all relevant statutory and regulatory requirements;
- Liaising with external lawyers on all cases filed against the Institute to ensure instructions, witnesses and statements are procured on time;
- Working with external lawyers to initiate lawsuits or to formulate a defense, to gather evidence in legal proceedings involving the Institute and rendering general advice relating to any legal proceedings involving the Institute;
- Representing the Institute in litigation matters;
- Keeping track and updates of the amendments and changes in legislations;
- Assisting in facilitating Board induction and development and implementation of the capacity building programmes;
- Assisting in facilitating legal, compliance and governance audits;
- Providing input in the development and implementation of the Board charters and the Code of Conduct and Ethics; and
- Providing input in the preparation and monitoring of the Departmental budgets and expenditures;
Person Specifications
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have: –
- At least of four (4) years relevant work experience in a comparable position and institution;
- Bachelors of Laws degree from a recognized university;
- Minimum K.C.S.E C+ (Plus) or its equivalent from a recognized institution;
- Post graduate Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law;
- Admitted as an advocate of the High Court Kenya;
- Member to the Law Society of Kenya;
- Current Practicing Certificate;
- Demonstrable good results in work performance;
- Proficiency in computer applications; and
- Fulfilled the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.

Legal Officer
Job Purpose
This position is responsible for implementing legal services in the Institute.
Job Specifications
The duties and responsibilities of the officer will entail assisting in:
- Preparing legal briefs for the initiation of legal action;
- Preparing and interpreting legal opinions and offering guidance on legal requirements; iii. Ensuring that key issues and needs of Institute are represented in policy fora in international regional and national conferences/meetings/workshops;
- Preparing and filing of pleadings for and on behalf of the Institute;
- Drafting and reviewing of legal instruments and policy documents on behalf of the Institute;
- Drafting of contracts, agreements and other legal documents;
- Preparing and circulating of Board and Committee Papers; and viii. Maintaining and updating the Register of Conflict of Interest.

- Bachelor of Law degree from a recognized university;
- Minimum K.C.S.E C+ (Plus) or its equivalent from a recognized institution; iii. Post graduate Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law;

- Member of the Law Society of Kenya in good standing;
