Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for assisting with strategic and longterm water system planning.
- Assisting with the reviews of water system capacity and service evaluations associated with water service extension projects and other potential service growth opportunities.
- Provide project recommendations through the use of computerized hydraulic modeling and analysis.
- Manage multiple projects and perform varied engineering assignments associated with planning, design, or construction.
- Gather and analyze water system data to assist in the preparation of strategic water system planning studies.
- Ensure scope and quality of work achieve the intent of all Design Concepts and Company standards for capacity, performance, reliability, safety and regulatory compliance.
- Develop technical information and concepts into feasible and effective engineering approaches.
- Develop strategic and strong working relationships with engineering firms, vendors, and contractors for the benefit of NYAHUWASCO.

Water Engineering Technologist

Duties and responsibilities
- Ensure efficient and effective water supply and monitor routine water supply and maintenance of the systems to ensure minimal or no water interruption within water supply time.
- Maintenance of Water Pipelines and Applied Appliances.
- In consultation with plumbers, prioritize the work for the day to ensure minimum water interruption and distribution within the supply hours.
- Project planning for construction activities and water pipeline installation in the respective areas.
- Schedule and prepare work plans for field activities in consultation with respective teams
- Supervise the construction and rehabilitation of water supplies interventions in strict adherence to the Kenya government regulations.
- Undertake basic supervision, operates, maintains, and performs preventative maintenance on Water Supply pumps.
- Performing preventative maintenance on electric motors and diesel engines, pumps, compressors, valves, chemical feed equipment, pressure vessels, and related equipment.
- Performing water quality sampling; facility and equipment tests, including well and pump efficiency tests.
- Inspect, operate, test, and maintain a variety of pumping equipment, water storage facilities, and water distribution facilities, including pumps, control valves, meters, pipe systems, water storage tanks, chemicals and equipment associated with water treatment, and pressure vessels.
- Collect water samples and perform duties associated with systems water quality standards
- Clean and flush the water system; respond to customer water quality inquiries.

- Carry water quality surveillance from entry point to consumer point and water quality.

- Administers and directs all laboratory activities on quality assurance control, research and technical investigation.
