Waiter job in Kenya

Our client a five star Italian Restaurant is looking for waiters to join their team.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following: 

• Escort customers to their tables.
• Present menus to patrons and answer questions about menu items, making recommendations.
• Explain how various menu items are prepared, describing ingredients and cooking methods.
• Inform customers of daily specials.
• Take orders from patrons for food or beverages.
• Write patrons’ food orders on order slips, memorize orders, or enter orders into computers for transmittal to kitchen staff.
• Serve food or beverages to patrons at tables as required.
• Fill salt, pepper, sugar, cream, condiment, and napkin containers.
• Stock service areas with supplies such as sauces, salt, menus, bill folders.
• Check with customers to ensure that they are enjoying their meals and take action to correct any problems.
• Prepare checks that itemize and total meal costs and sales taxes.
• Collect payments from customers, issuing receipts, accepting payments, returning the change.
• Clean tables or counters after patrons have finished dining.
• Remove dishes and glasses from tables or counters, take them to kitchen for cleaning.
• Perform cleaning duties, such as sweeping and mopping floors, tidying up server station, taking out trash, or checking and cleaning other areas of the business as assigned by supervisor.
• Filling in for absent staff as needed
• Available to work flexible hours that may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, nights and/or holidays.
• Maintains regular and punctual attendance

Qualifications:

• Certificate in Food and Beverage service and sales from a recognized institution.
• Minimum of 1-year work experience working as a waiter in a 5 star restaurant
• A high degree of integrity and honesty.
• Positive attitude and willingness to work as a team.
