Pilot in Command / Captain
Role Purpose Statement:
Under the general direction and guidance of the Chief Pilot, the Pilot in Command (Captain) is responsible for the ultimate safety, security, and efficient operation of the aircraft. This role includes commanding flights in compliance with all aviation regulations and company policies, while ensuring the well-being of all crew members, passengers, and cargo, and upholding the highest standards of customer service.
Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities:
- Ensure the safety of all crew members, passengers, and cargo onboard, maintaining responsibility for passenger safety from boarding to deplaning.
- Exercise authority to secure aircraft safety, issue necessary commands, and make decisions regarding the carriage of passengers and cargo.
- Take necessary actions in emergencies, deviating from standard procedures if required for safety.
- Plan and supervise company flights in accordance with legal, company policies, and procedures to ensure safe, efficient, and economical operations.
- Maintain familiarity with international air legislation, aviation practices, and company operations manual, ensuring compliance.
- Oversee the aircraft and equipment to ensure serviceability, supervise refuelling, confirm mass and balance within limits, and decide on the acceptability of aircraft unserviceability, applying greater safety margins when necessary.
- Confirm that aircraft performance allows for the safe completion of the proposed flight, and ensure crew and passengers are secured during critical flight phases.
- Ensure passengers are briefed on emergency exits and safety equipment and that all operational procedures and checklists are followed.
- Ensure necessary documents and manuals are valid and carried throughout the flight, and conduct pre-flight inspections.
- Ensure compliance with maintenance procedures when away from base and maintain continuous communication during flights.
- Uphold company values to ensure customer satisfaction and monitor crew performance, maintaining high discipline and morale.
- Notify authorities of any accidents or incidents, and enter all known or suspected defects in the aircraft technical logbook.
- Furnish reports pertaining to flights for management actions and ensure implementation of safety, security, and emergency standards at all times.
- Responsible for the journey logbook, the general declaration, and ensuring all crew members perform duties required for safe aircraft operation.

Qualifications:
- Education: Minimum of a Commercial Pilot License (CPL) with an Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL) required.
- Experience: Extensive flying experience as a qualified Pilot in Command (PIC) on type, as stipulated in the Operations Manual, with a clean accident/incident record.
- Certifications: Holder of a valid Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL) and Instrument Rating, with comprehensive Crew Resource Management (CRM) training, and current medical fitness certification as required by aviation authorities. Relevant aviation and safety certifications are also essential.
Flight Operations Officer
ROLE PURPOSE STATEMENT
In joint authority with PIC, make decisions functions duties or tasks associated with the operational control to ensure safety and security of a Jambojet flight. This shall include provision, preparation and briefing the PIC with timely, adequate, updated flight documentation and relevant information in compliance with conditions and limitations specified in the AOC to ensure safe conduct of flights
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare and process Operational Flight Plans for all Jambojet flight departing from Nairobi and other stations where applicable.
- Action all Messages/Emails for efficient safe operations.
- Operate radios VHF, HF to establish effective communications with aircrafts.
- Ensure orderliness and cleanliness of Operations Control Centre in order to maintain conducive working environment.
- Compile and compute flight progress status in Wingtrac in order to maintain correct flight information.
- Provide meteorological information to aircraft in-flight when required for safe flight operations.
- Furnish the PIC while in flight, by appropriate means, with information which may be necessary for the safe conduct of the flight. Such information shall include but not limited to,
- In-flight diversions, deviation from planned routing and any changes that may affect safe continuation and safe completion of the flight.
- Ensure implementation of safety, security and emergency standards at all times.
- Prepare process and provide all updated dispatch documentation and information for readiness of flight crew briefings.
- Provide timely briefing to flight crew, in conformity with Company policy and Civil Aviation
- Regulations for safe operation of the flights.
- Provide Aeronautical Information Service (AIS) and meteorological pre-flight briefing for all crew departing from Nairobi and other stations where applicable.
- Advise Flight Crew on any payload status on the sector(s) to be flown to maximize payload.
- Prepare & File all ATS flight plans with the relevant Civil Aviation Authorities and communicate any changes thereof in good time in accordance with legal requirements
- Monitor all assigned aircraft for restrictive Operational MEL/CDL and plan flights considering the restrictions in consultation with the Maintenance team.
- Monitor day to day crew duty assignment to ensure compliance with the regulations and company policies.
- Prepare and advice the crew movement to transport provider to ensure prompt pick-up and drop-off of crew.
- Monitor closely crew check-in/check-out times to ensure flights operate on time and to enable alerting of SBY crew in good time to minimize delay.
- Daily tracking of crew roster
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE
- Diploma in relevant field
- Must have a Flight Operations Officer License issued by KCAA
- Three years working experience in Airline Operations
- Must be a team player and ability to adopt to changes
- Computer literate

Maintenance Engineer
Role Purpose Statement:
Under the general direction and guidance of the Manager line Maintenance, the Maintenance Engineer is responsible for carrying out and certifying inspection, repair, replacement, and modification tasks on aircraft and aircraft systems. This role involves performing certification within his/her scope of approval in accordance with KCAA and company regulations, optimizing costs for the business while upholding high safety standards to maintain schedule integrity.
Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities:
- Carry out scheduled maintenance checks, Service Bulletins, and Airworthiness Directives tasks, and certify within the scope of approval. This is crucial for ensuring the aircraft’s airworthiness and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Conduct direct maintenance activities essential for the aircraft’s operational readiness by assessing defects on aircraft, organize workstations, troubleshoot and rectify issues.
- Perform and certify duplicate inspections on safety-critical systems of the aircraft and engines within the scope of approval.
- Adhere to the company’s SHE policy, MPM, TPM, MCM, AMM, and all relevant maintenance manuals.
- Carry out and certify maintenance on cabin utilities for customer satisfaction and comfort.
- Ensure maintenance tasks, defects, and component changes are recorded accurately on both paper and IT systems, and report incidents/accident occurrences as per company procedures.
- Assign duties to support staff, verifying their competencies for tasks at hand to ensure efficiency, and supervise technicians to develop improved competency/efficiency.
- Communicate at various levels and coordinate with other areas over technical issues to inform relevant parties of the aircraft’s serviceability status.
- Ensure all tasks handovers are done at the end of each shift.
- Identify and requisition the required parts and tools for maintenance operations. Having the necessary parts and tools is crucial for timely maintenance work.
- Coordinate aircraft towing to and from hangars and operate necessary aircraft systems for safe movement.
- Care for and safely keep company tools and maintenance equipment, including apron control.
Know-How:

- Certifications: Dual LWTR or B1/B2 with a KCAA endorsement. Membership to professional bodies is an added advantage.
