Systems Maintenance Engineers
- Med-Lab Diagnostic Center is looking for system maintenance engineers who will be responsible for the continuous running of equipment and machinery in our laboratories. Using computerized systems, the engineers will oversee routine maintenance and organize repairs.
- They will also be involved with control and monitoring devices and occasionally in the manufacture of items that will help in maintenance.
- Your role is vital to the efficiency, development and progress of our laboratories.
- Working with other professionals, the engineers will improve production facilities, reduce the incidence of costly breakdowns and develop strategies to improve overall reliability and safety of our equipment.
Responsibilities
- Design maintenance strategies, procedures and methods
- Carry out routine maintenance work and respond to equipment faults
- Diagnose breakdown problems
- Fit new parts and make sure equipment is working correctly
- Carry out quality inspections on jobs
- Liaise with client departments, customers and other laboratory technologists
- Arrange specialist procurement of fixtures, fittings or components
- Control maintenance tools, stores and equipment
- Deal with emergencies, unplanned problems and repairs
- Improve health and safety policies and procedures
- Work with specialist equipment, such as programmable logic controllers (PLC)
- Write maintenance strategies to help with installation and commissioning guidelines
- Ensure there is continuous cover of the machinery and equipment in case of breakdowns.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Civil Engineering, Medical Technology, Applied Physics (Electronics and Instrumentation), Mechatronic Engineering or any other relevant degree from a recognized institution.
- Registration certificates from relevant regulatory bodies
- Ability to read system schematics.
- Advanced troubleshooting skills.
- Understanding of safety and equipment procedures.
- Good communication and training skills.
- Ability to work with heavy equipment.
Medical Research Officers

Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Biological sciences, Analytical Chemistry, Biotechnology, Clinical Medicine, Nutrition and Dietetics, Food Technology, Public Health, Statistics, Mathematics, Biostatistics, Epidemiology, or Applied Sciences from a recognized institution
- A Master’s Degree is an added advantage
- Valid License from Kenya Medical Laboratory Technicians Technologist Board. (KMLTTB)
- Proficiency with molecular laboratory equipment with recent attachment in a parasitology/molecular biology laboratory;
- Familiarity with molecular biology techniques; DNA extraction, PCR and Qpcr;
- Knowledgeable in Sequencing and Sequencing data analysis; Accuracy and close attention to detail; and
- Strong analytical and organization skills.

Laboratory Technologists
- In this position you will perform as part of the Laboratory team, which collects, performs and results chemical tests on body fluids and specimens from patients to provide accurate information to clinicians for diagnosis and prevention of diseases.
Responsibilities
- Examine specimens received by the department and organize workflow to provide optimum efficiency of testing and turnaround time of results in molecular department
- Perform PCR, hybridization, and genetic sequencing on specimens
- Perform quality control, validation, and other quality activities to verify performance of clinical assays
- Performing daily maintenance of equipment and troubleshoot unexpected problems with equipment monitor temperatures of incubation equipment.
- Monitor inventory of supplies and reagents and communicate requirements
- Operate complex equipment and computer programs related to equipment and HMIS system
- Maintain records of test results and archives of data
- Perform proficiency testing to maintain compliance with regulatory agencies
- Skills in another medical laboratory discipline with be an added advantage
Qualification & requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Biomedical sciences from a recognized institution
- Must be registered with KMLTTB and have a valid practicing license.
- Minimum of 2 years working experience in molecular work

Pharmaceutical Technologists
Responsibilities
- Prepare medications by reviewing and interpreting doctors’ orders, detecting therapeutic incompatibilities
- Dispense medications by compounding, packaging, and labeling pharmaceuticals Control medications by monitoring drug therapies, advising interventions
- Provide pharmacological information by answering questions and requests of health care professionals; counseling patients on drug therapies.
- Protect patients and technicians by adhering to infection control protocols.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations.
- Prepare medicine when appropriate using the correct dosages and material for each individual patient
- Keep records of patient history and of all activities regarding refilling medication
- Keep abreast of advancements in medicine by attending conferences and seminars and collaborating with other healthcare professionals
- Comply with all applicable legal rules regulations, and procedures
- Ensure that treatments are compatible with the medication issued Check dosage and ensure that medicines are correctly and safely supplied and labeled
- Supervise the preparation of any medicines (not all are supplied ready made-up by the manufacturer) Keep a register of controlled drugs for legal and stock control purposes

Qualifications & Requirements
