Head of Credit
PROFILE INTRODUCTION
Our client, one of the niche banks in Kenya that offers a wide range of finance products, seeks to bring on-board a highly skilled and motivated Head of Credit.The ideal candidate should have a proven track record in credit management, a deep understanding of risk assessment, and a strategic mindset.
The role holderwill be responsible for shaping the bank’s lending strategies, ensuring the prudent management of credit portfolios, and contributing to the bank’s growth and success.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and execute the bank’s credit strategy, aligning it with the institution’s overall goals and risk appetite.
- Oversee credit risk assessment and management, ensuring that lending decisions are made in line with established policies and risk parameters.
- Manage and optimize the bank’s credit portfolio, diversifying exposures and monitoring asset quality.
- Lead a team of credit analysts in conducting comprehensive credit analysis for potential borrowers across various segments.
- Review and update credit policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Make informed credit decisions, approving or declining credit applications while adhering to internal policies and regulatory guidelines.
- Oversee the ongoing monitoring of the organization’s credit portfolio to assess the creditworthiness of borrowers and maintain accurate up-to-date credit documentation for all transactions and clients.
- Build and maintain relationships with key clients, ensuring excellent service delivery and client satisfaction.
- Ensure that all credit operations and practices comply with applicable banking laws and regulations.
- Prepare and present regular reports to senior management and the board of directors on credit portfolio performance and risk exposure.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
The job holder will require the following minimum requirements: –
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
- CPA K and/ or ACCA membership.
- Experience in Analysis, Credit Administration, Legal documentation, and expertise in trade Finance
- Minimum ten [10] years of experience in credit management within a banking or financial institution, with a proven track record of success.
- Strong understanding of credit risk assessment, credit analysis, and portfolio management.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements governing credit operations in the banking industry.

Our client, one of the niche banks in Kenya that offers a range of finance products, seeks to bring on board a Head of Human Resources (HR) to play a critical role in shaping the bank’s HR strategies, fostering a culture of excellence, and ensuring the bank attracts, develops, and retains top-tier talent.
They will be expected to demonstrate expertise in cultural transformation, talent management, and performance management. Additionally, a solid understanding and appreciation of organizational development is a crucial requirement for this position.
As a change agent, the role holder is required to align organization strategic goals with employees and business units while building credible relations. Facilitate execution of initiatives to deliver value added service to management and employees that reflects business goals of the organization.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and execute the bank’s HR strategy, aligning it with the institution’s overall goals and values.
- Oversee recruitment and selection processes, ensuring that the bank attracts and hires the best-fit candidates for various roles.
- Lead the performance management process, including goal setting, performance reviews, and feedback mechanisms.
- Lead change management initiatives, particularly in response to evolving industry trends, regulatory changes, and market dynamics.
- Manage compensation and benefits programs to ensure competitive packages and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Foster positive employee relations, resolve disputes, and maintain a harmonious work environment.
- Ensure HR practices and policies comply with all relevant labor laws and banking industry regulations.
- Facilitate group interventions to solve business and people problems. Maintain up to date organization charts, and reflect business head count data, turnover and absenteeism statistics, reconcile to relevant databases to the business managers.
- Develop and implement succession plans to identify and prepare future leaders within the organization.
- Utilize HR data and analytics to make data-driven decisions and provide insights for optimizing talent management.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
The job holder will require the following minimum requirements: –
- A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- A Master’s degree or relevant HR certifications.
- HR Professional qualification, membership to a professional body with a current and valid Human Resource Practicing License
- At least 10 years’ experience in multifaceted organizations
- Regional/Global experience shall be an added advantage
- Proven experience in HR leadership roles within the banking or financial services sector.
- Strong background in HR analytics and data-driven decision-making.

- Competency in job mapping, profiling, and talent management.
- Deep knowledge of banking industry regulations, compliance, and HR best practices.
