Senior Innovation Officer

Key Responsibilities / Duties / Tasks

  • Creating and continuously updating a national database to support effective development and management of the national innovation system;
  • Profiling potential partners for resource mobilization for the development of technological innovations.
  • identifying initiatives for commercialization of innovations;
  • Creating awareness on IP rights;
  • advising and training innovators on exploitation of IPR’s and on commercialization processes;
  • Engaging in initiation and negotiation for linkages and partnerships among stakeholders in the national innovation systems;
  • Conducting stakeholder assessment and validating opportunities and potential for development of the national innovation system;
  • Implementing the agency’s strategic objectives, projects and programmes; working with the management team to ensure that projects and programmes are well integrated into the overall organization plan;
  • monitoring and reporting to the management on  project and programme performance over time; and
  • participating in and contributing to the development and monitoring of annual work plans and budgets.

Academic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: Business Management, Technology, Marketing, Law, Economics or any other relevant qualifications from a recognized Institution;

Professional Qualifications / Membership to professional bodies

  • Membership to a professional body and in good standing where applicable.
  • Supervisory course lasting not less than two (2) weeks from a recognized institution
  • Previous relevant work experience required.
  • Served for a cumulative period of six (6) years’ relevant work experience as Innovation Officer I or in a comparable position the Public or Private Sector.

Senior Office Administrator

Key Responsibilities / Duties / Tasks

  • Taking oral dictation; Using e-office to research and process data;
  • Attending to visitors/clients;
  • Handling telephone calls;
  • Handling customer inquiries and complaints;
  • coordinating schedules of meetings and appointments;
  • Coordinating travel arrangements;
  • Ensuring security of office records, equipment and documents including classified materials;
  • Ensuring security, integrity and confidentiality of information;
  • Maintaining an up to date filing system in the office;
  • Preparing responses to routine correspondence;
  • Overseeing office protocol and etiquette;
  • Guiding and supervising other office administrative services personnel;

  • Diploma in Administration/Business Management, or its equivalent qualification from a recognized Institution Diploma in Secretarial Studies from a recognized institution.

OR

  • Business Education Single and Group Certificates (BES & GC) Stages I, II and III from the Kenya National Examinations Council in the following subjects:
    • Shorthand III (minimum 120 w.p.m.).
    • Typewriting III (50 w.p.m.)/Computerized Document Processing III;
    • Business English III/Communications III.
    • Commerce II.
    • Office Practice II/Office Procedures.
    • Office Management III/Office Administration and Management III.
    • Secretarial Duties II;

  • Served for a cumulative period of nine (9) years relevant work experience three (3) of which should have been in the grade of Assistant Office Administrator I or in a comparable position in the Public Service or private sector.

Assistant Records Officer

Key Responsibilities / Duties / Tasks

  • Receiving, opening, sorting and dispatching mails;
  • Maintaining registers for incoming and outgoing mails;
  • Ensuring security of files and documents;
  • Ensuring pending correspondences are brought to the attention of supervisor for appropriate action;  
  • Preparing appraisal and disposal schedule of files and documents in liaison with relevant stakeholders;
  • Digitizing the Agency documents for circulation and archiving;
  • Maintaining the registry; and
  • Responsible for archival and safe keeping of all documents.
