Consultant (Graphic Design)
Summary
- The consultant will take direction from our Associate Director of Marketing (based in Barcelona, Spain), and work closely with the Director of Partnerships & Services (based in Nairobi, Kenya). You will collaborate with the Marketing & Communications (MarCom) team for Worldreader’s website migration and rebrand project. You will also create new and improved XDs, image files, and templates such as letterheads, postcards, and one-pagers that align with Worldreader’s revamped brand.
This is a hybrid contract position based in Nairobi, Kenya.
Deliverables
- Process requests for digital and print collateral designs.
- Design XDs and website landing pages based on UX principles, and Q2 and Q3 2024 brand and conversion goals.
- Produce high-quality videos such as Youtube and GIFs, and sound assets including motion graphics for our website and social media channels.
- Create engaging content for various social media platforms that resonate with diverse target audiences throughout Kenya and the US.
- Execute project management tasks as assigned through Jira.
- Develop a series of Canva templates.
Desired Skills & Qualifications
- Must reside in or near Nairobi, Kenya.
- Ability to consult on designs that support business goals.
- Fluent in English (additional languages are a plus).
- Accuracy and attention to detail.
- Proficient in Jira, Google Analytics, HubSpot, CMS systems or WordPress preferred.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, or similar.
- Minimum five (5) years of relevant experience with similar responsibilities.
- Advanced experience using design software including Adobe Creative Suite, Final Cut Pro, Cinema 4D, and Canva.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Hybrid work environment working from the Nairobi, Kenya office at least two days per week.
Consultant (Digital Marketing)
Summary
- The consultant will take direction from the Director of Partnerships & Services. You will collaborate with Worldreader’s East Africa team, and be responsible for executing compelling digital marketing campaigns and projects.
This is a hybrid contract position based in Nairobi, Kenya.
Rate
Between 75,000 to 85,000 KES per month, not to exceed 783,613 KES for entire consultancy.
Timeline
- A total of 30 hrs per week for an estimated 9 months in alignment with the completed deliverables.
Deliverables
- Craft digital campaign strategies and execute digital marketing tasks.
- Create consistent brand messaging that builds strong connections between Worldreader and its audience and users.
- Analyze marketing campaign performances.
- Contribute to strategic planning meetings.
- Use insights from internal dashboard and past campaigns to optimize new ones.
- Work with internal and external content collaborators and the marketing team to bring marketing goals to life.
- Establish key performance indicators related to marketing strategies.
- Ensure SEO-optimized content to rank high on search engines.
- Recommend ROI measurements on all digital opportunities.
- Stay up to date with the best digital marketing tools.
- Engage with online audiences.

Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Communications, Marketing, or Advertising.
- Five years of digital marketing experience.
- Experience with pulling consumer insights by analyzing qualitative and quantitative data.
- Confident in both traditional and digital marketing.
- Proven to be a trusted advisor to teams and partners.

Consultant (Content Creator)
Summary
- The consultant will take direction from our Director of Partnerships & Services, and collaborate with Worldreader’s East Africa team. You will be responsible for creating engaging content for internal and promotional use.
- This is a hybrid contract position based in Nairobi, Kenya.
Rate
Between 50,000 to 60,000 KES per month, not exceeding 541,405 KES for entire consultancy.
Timeline
A total of 40 hrs per week for an estimated 9 months in alignment with the completed deliverables.
Deliverables
- Create and visually enhance content for traditional and digital media channels.
- Design and edit multimedia content such as videos, GIFs, animations, and blog posts to support digital marketing initiatives.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to execute successful campaigns.
- Conduct research and use SEO guidelines to optimize content.
- Monitor digital engagement metrics, research marketing trends, and develop relevant campaigns.
- Prepare well-structured layouts for publishing.
