Accountant
Job Summary
- The Accountant is responsible for managing and overseeing daily financial transactions, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards. Reporting to the Senior Accountant, this role supports the hospital’s financial operations through accurate record-keeping, analysis, and reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting and Analysis:
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Generate financial reports for management review, providing insights and recommendations.
- Conduct variance analysis to identify discrepancies and propose corrective actions.
General Ledger Maintenance:
- Maintain the general ledger by recording and verifying financial transactions.
- Prepare and post journal entries for month-end and year-end close processes.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts and ensure accuracy in financial reporting.
Accounts Payable and Receivable:
- Process and record vendor invoices, ensuring timely and accurate payments.
- Manage accounts receivable, track incoming payments, and follow up on outstanding balances.
- Reconcile accounts payable and receivable accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and financial forecasts.
- Monitor budget performance and report any significant variances.
- Provide support in compiling data for budget analysis and forecasting activities.
Compliance and Audit Support:
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations.
- Assist in the preparation of documentation for internal and external audits.
- Implement and maintain internal control policies and procedures to safeguard hospital assets.
Payroll Processing:
- Support the payroll process by ensuring accurate calculation and timely disbursement of salaries.
- Maintain payroll records and resolve any payroll-related issues.
Financial Documentation and Record Keeping:
- Maintain accurate and organized financial records, both electronic and paper-based.
- Ensure timely and accurate filing of all financial documents.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of financial policies and procedures.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with the finance team and other hospital departments to ensure smooth financial operations.
- Communicate effectively with vendors, customers, and other stakeholders to resolve financial issues.
- Provide support and assistance to other members of the finance team as needed.
Other Duties:
- Participate in continuous professional development and training.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Senior Accountant.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience: 2-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a healthcare or hospital setting.
- Previous experience in audit is an added advantage.
Skills:
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office, particularly Excel.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Management Accountant
Job Summary
- The Management Accountant is responsible for providing accurate financial information and insights to support the hospital’s strategic decision-making process. This role involves budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, cost management, and performance reporting. The Management Accountant works closely with the Finance Manager and other department heads to ensure financial efficiency and effective resource allocation within the hospital.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Planning and Analysis:
- Develop and maintain detailed financial models to support budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and analysis, highlighting key variances and trends.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to the Finance Manager and department heads to inform strategic decisions.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Coordinate the annual budgeting process, working with various departments to develop comprehensive budgets.
- Prepare rolling forecasts and update them regularly based on actual performance and changing assumptions.
- Monitor budget performance, analyze variances, and work with departments to implement corrective actions as needed.
Cost Management:
- Analyze hospital costs and identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
- Monitor and report on departmental spending against budget, identifying areas of concern and recommending actions.
- Support cost control initiatives and implement best practices for cost management across the hospital.
Performance Reporting:
- Develop and maintain performance dashboards and key performance indicators (KPIs) to track hospital performance.
- Prepare financial and operational performance reports for senior management
- Conduct benchmarking analysis against industry standards and best practices.
Internal Controls and Compliance:
- Ensure adherence to internal financial policies and procedures, supporting a robust internal control environment.
- Assist with the preparation of financial statements and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and addressing audit findings.
Project Analysis and Support:
- Conduct financial analysis and feasibility studies for new projects, programs, and initiatives.
- Provide financial support for capital investment decisions, including cost-benefit analysis and ROI calculations.
- Collaborate with project managers to monitor project budgets and financial performance.
Financial Systems and Processes:
- Utilize and maintain financial systems and software to ensure data accuracy and efficiency.
- Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes and implement system improvements.
- Provide training and support to hospital staff on financial processes and systems as needed.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with the Finance Manager and other department heads to provide financial guidance and support.
- Communicate financial information and insights to non-financial managers in an understandable manner.
- Participate in cross-functional teams and projects to support hospital-wide initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA, CMA, or equivalent certification preferred.
- Experience: 3-5 years of experience in management accounting, financial analysis, or a similar role, preferably in a healthcare setting.
Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in accounting software and advanced MS Excel skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of healthcare finance and hospital operations is a plus.
Pharmaceutical Technologist
Education
- Hold a diploma or degree in pharmacy from a recognized university/college
- Hold an active pharmaceutical technologist license from the Pharmacy and Poisons Board
Experience
- Position holder should have at least 6 years’ experience working as a licensed pharmaceutical technologist in a busy pharmacy and experience setting up start up pharmacy operations in a health facility
Knowledge and Skills Requirements
- Excellent analytical reasoning skills and meticulous attention to detail
- Computer literacy, with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in the setup and strategy for pharmacy operations in our first maternity, including providing Jacaranda with the necessary licensure;
- Oversee the use of medicines within our facility, in both in and outpatient settings;
- Oversee sales of prescribed medicines to our clients and potentially to external customers;
- Maintain detailed, meticulous records of all use of medicines, especially of controlled substances;
- Design internal and external safeguards regarding storage and dispensing of pharmacy products;
