Reproductive Health Lead
Job Summary
The Reproductive Health Lead will be responsible for the management of Reproductive health i.e. Family planning, Pregnancy Intention screening, eMTCT, and Cervical Cancer Prevention (CCP) among Women of Reproductive Age (WRA) and for contributing to overall project success through sharing lessons learned and good practice. S/he organizes project activities and manages resources effectively, responsibly, and efficiently. S/he will take the lead collaboratively with the County team in spearheading eMTCT task force activities. The Reproductive health lead reports to the Senior Technical Advisor.
The position will be based in Machakos but will be supporting both the CONNECT (Nairobi) and PACT IMARA programs in Machakos, Makueni and Kitui.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Assists in the development of annual plans and budgets that will lead to appropriate implementation of Reproductive Health/CCP objectives and attainment of corresponding results that the organization is responsible for.
- Build extensive networks and linkages with county and national stakeholders to ensure that the program’s RH activities are well understood and supported by all stakeholders
- Provide technical oversight in ensuring all adolescent girls aged 10-14 years are linked to HPV vaccinations, all eligible women are screened for Cervical Cancer, and ensure referral and linkages to treatment for the positive screens, by improving mapping and referral pathways for treatment and follow-up.
- Provide technical assistance and monitor the implementation of planned activities
- Conducts training, and follows up activities in the project areas towards meeting program targets
- Improve and strengthen referral networks for cervical cancer screening specimens/clients for diagnosis and treatment
- Improve availability and quality of data on family planning, cervical cancer, and PIA screening and management for planning and ensure optimal utilization of Modules in Kenya EMR, including MNCH and PrEP
- Develop donor and program reports as per the program timelines
- Identifies, documents, and writes articles on best practices in the operating area and publishes technical reviews, and manuals, and guidelines on project-related activities as needed.
- Champion PrEP integration in the MNCH setting
- Take the lead in Spearheading the County eMTCT task force, participating in stakeholders meetings, and supporting the county in Achieving the eMTCT target through joint collaborative efforts.
Required Qualifications
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Master’s degree Public Health, Epideomiology, Statistics, MPH or any relevant field
- Degree (Bachelor of Clinical Medicine, Bachelor of Science in Nursing)
- Diploma in Clinical Medicine & Surgery or Diploma in Nursing from Kenya Medical Training College or any recognized institution.
- ART Management training and relevant job experience of at least three (3) years working experience after internship in a CCC set up.
- Must be Registered and Licensed with the Clinical Officers Council or Nursing Council of Kenya.
- More than 3 years’ experience in the implementation of PMTCT/Programmatic activities
- Experience in training and mentorship of health care workers on PMTCT
- Working in a US Grants environment is an added advantage.

Nyawest Program Specialist
Overview of Position:
- The NYAWEST Program Specialist is responsible for designing and overseeing implementation of Nyanza and Western HIV Technical Working Group strategy to support quality HIV services, capacity building health care workers, strengthen regional and county HIV mentorship systems, inform national HIV policies and champion data utilization for decision making in 10 counties.
- She/he will lead implementation of technical strategy , guide inputs needed to ensure fidelity and effectiveness of the program, including but not limited to ; leadership, coordination and management of technical assistance approaches to the supported counties and evaluation project effectiveness in collaboration with NYAWEST Secretariat, County leadership and other stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, monitor and evaluate program initiatives to support NYAWEST region in clinical decision making, capacity building health care workers, strengthening mentorship systems and data utilization as per the program workplan.
- Review and maintain a data base of advanced and complex cases sent to NYAWEST for clinical review and management from health facilities in the 10 supported counties, ensuring feedback is comprehensive and timely.
- Coordinate with county and sub county lead mentors to support facility level CME, MDT and ensure that TWG recommendations on cases are implemented with fidelity at facility levels, clients on 3rd line are monitored and reported to the TWG and NASCOP every quarter.
- Collaborate with NYAWEST Co- chairs in structuring, health care provider and data driven capacity building sessions through monthly mentorship forum, CME and mentorship activities in line with national priorities.
- Promote learning , knowledge sharing and scientific writing in the region through CME sessions on abstract writing, structuring NYAWEST journal clubs, organizing NYAWEST best practice forums and participation in National and International conferences
- Support regional TOT in disseminating the National ART Guidelines 2022 to health care workers providing clinical services in the 10 support counties.
- Collaborate with NASCOP, Counties and Implementing partners to strengthen HIV mentorship initiatives at county, sub county and facility levels through technical assistance and joint mentorship support supervision.
- Oversee implementation of the JOOTRH E- learning hub as a centre for expert training, telemedicine consultations, case discussions and avenue for disseminating guidelines, policies as well as a benchmarking centre.
- Coordinate and collaborate with HI teams at NASCOP and program level to ensure uptake and utilization of NYAWEST digital tools in the NYAWEST Dashboard.
- Timely submission of comprehensive quality reports on NYAWEST performance to technical working group members, CDC and programs on a monthly or quarterly basis as needed by stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in clinical medicine, Registered Clinical Officer with higher Diploma in clinical medicine (family health) , paediatrics or other health related courses, or Bachelor of Nursing from an accredited/recognized institute
- Trained on the National Advanced HIV Clinical Course (NAHCC)
- Trainer of Trainers – Kenya Antiretroviral Therapy Guideline 2022
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in implementation of HIV/TB programs with at least 2 years of leadership role.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in HIV mentorship activities at county or sub county level
- Experience in stakeholder management is an added advantage.
- Demonstrated computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Demonstrable written and verbal communication skills
