Catering Manager

Main Duties

  •  Identifying and developing objectives for the catering services in the hospital
  •  Specifying the responsibilities within the structure of the catering department
  •  Monitoring the quality of the product and service provided
  •  Preparation of the specifications for the purchasing of all goods required
  •  Planning menus in consultation with chefs
  •  Responsible for manpower planning and performance Management of all catering staff
  •  Coordinating catering processes and organize work plans/Rotas, including leave and daily duty schedules for service personnel
  •  Providing guidance to the F & B Supervisor & the Head Chef in the management of catering staff
  •  Ensuring that health and safety regulations are strictly observed in compliance with government and other regulatory bodies
  •  Upgrade and maintain strict Hygiene and sanitation practices and levels
  •  Keeping abreast of trends and developments in the industry, such as menus or trends in consumer tastes
  •  Preparing and controlling the catering budget and meeting set financial targets and forecasts, while keeping financial and administrative records
  •  Preparing management reports in regard to cost, quality and any other relevant parameters
  •  Monitoring procedures for audit and feedback of services

Desirable skills, knowledge and experiences

  •  Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality Mgt/ Food & Beverage/Hospitality from a recognized institution
  •  7 years’ experience as manager
  •  Trained & Experienced in HACCP Experience in a busy hospital added advantage

Physiotherapist

Main Duties

  •  Conducting evaluation and assessment of patients having physical disabilities, disorders or injuries
  •  Identifying treatment goals and appropriate therapy techniques and equipment to achieve the treatment goals
  •  Planning for the most efficient and effective treatment regime
  •  Carrying out the rehabilitative program and designate the party to carry out a treatment plan, e.g. patient, employee, ward staff, family members etc
  •  Conducting regular evaluations of patients to assess progress and response to therapy and revise treatment programs where necessary to achieve goals
  •  Participating in treatment team meetings with Doctors, nurses and other physiotherapists in order to provide information regarding patient assessment and to further coordinate treatment goals and programs
  •  Advising and recommending to referring doctors on necessary interventions and/or change of management
  •  Developing treatment plans to be followed by patients after discharge, advising the importance of continuing physiotherapy after discharge, and organizing their physiotherapy appointments
  •  Training patients, families and other professionals in treatment techniques and exercises outlined in the program
  •  Writing initial reports of results on the evaluation of patient’s physical condition and preparing written treatment plan
  •  Providing statistical information by preparing year-end summaries on patients treated and their conditions and progress
  •  Conducting educational sessions on therapy treatment

Required Qualifications for the Position

  •  Diploma or BSc in Physiotherapy
  •  Registered with the Kenya Society of Physiotherapists
  •  At least two (2) experience as a physiotherapist in a busy setup
  •  Good communication skills, Honest
  •  Good interpersonal skills

Occupational Therapist

Main Duties

  •  Evaluating Physicians/Surgeons’ referrals and patients’ medical records to determine occupational therapy needs
  •  Conferring with physicians, surgeons, psychologists, nurses and social workers regarding patient cases
  •  Developing individual treatment plans and administrating relevant therapy regimes
  •  Conducting regular evaluations of patients to assess progress and response to therapy and revise the treatment program as necessary
  •  Participating in treatment team meetings to provide information regarding patient assessment and treatment program
  •  Maintaining daily treatment evaluation notes of patient’s progress and discharge planning notes and summaries
  •  Providing training to other disciplines inside the institution on occupation therapy and special techniques or equipment used in patient care
  •  Training patients in the use of splints made and care of the same to avoid injuries like blisters
  •  Training patients to use prosthetic and orthotic devices and recommending modifications
  •  Adapting or modifying prefabricated equipment to meet individual needs, and monitor use of adaptive equipment
  •  Preparing written treatment plans and maintaining a record of patients treated
  •  Developing of home occupational therapy plan for discharged patients
  •  Participating in quality improvement initiatives within the department and providing reports as required

Required Qualifications for the Position

  •  Degree in a related field with 2 years of work experience
  •  Higher Diploma in a related field with 4 years work experience
  •  Diploma in Occupation Therapy with 5 years work experience
  •  Registered by the Kenya Occupational Therapy Association (KOTA)
  •  Good customer services skills
  •  Problem-solving skills
