Adjunct Faculty, Biochemistry
Job Summary:
The successful candidates will be reporting to the Dean School of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, the incumbent will be expected to teach, selected skills modules in Applied Biochemistry including, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Bioinformatics, Industrial Biochemistry and Novel Drug/Diagnostics/ Processes Discovery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Impart and assess selected biochemistry and Biotechnology skills to undergraduate students in Bachelor of Science in Applied Biochemistry
- Introduce and guide laboratory protocols for assigned topical areas
- Guide and mentor students in scientific communication (writing, oral presentations and poster designs)
- Support and mentor students in their career endeavors.
- Participate in curriculum development activities to ensure that the programs and the teaching content are up-to-date and marketable;
- Participate in program assessment and reviews;
Minimum Educational Qualifications and Professional Experience
- A Master of Science degree in Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Industrial Microbiology, from recognized/accredited university
- A bachelor of science degree in Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Industrial Microbiology,
- A Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Industrial Microbiology, will be an added advantage
- Should have at least three (3) years of Industrial /research experience
- Been registered by the relevant Professional Body;

Laboratory Technologist Chemistry
Job Summary:
Reporting to the Chair Pure and Biomedical Sciences department, School of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, the successful candidate will be expected to support learning activities in chemistry laboratory.
Key Responsibilities:
- Designing and conducting lab tests according to standard procedures
- Supervising and assisting students during laboratory and research sessions
- Ensuring student adherence to safety protocols while performing laboratory practicals
- Management of laboratory supplies
- Using, cleaning and maintaining various types of equipment.
- Segregate and dispose laboratory waste appropriately;
Minimum Educational Qualifications and Professional Experience
- A Bachelor’s degree in analytical chemistry/ chemistry /industrial chemistry/ from an accredited university.
- Minimum of two (2) years relevant experience in a similar position in a research or higher learning Institution.
- Ability to operate GC and HPLC equipment’s
- Ability to work with minimum supervision.
- Experience in an accredited laboratory will be an added advantage
- Excellent skills and competency in biochemical, clinical biochemistry and microbiology techniques.
- Registration by relevant regulatory body (if applicable);
