Wellness Officer

Strategic & Digital Wellness Initiatives:

The Wellness Officer will design comprehensive, holistic wellness initiatives that address the full spectrum of well-being: physical, mental, emotional, financial, and social. This will be achieved through the following tasks:

  • Develop and implement assessment plans to determine the client’s health and lifestyle needs, use relevant data e.g. claims to design, implement and co-ordinate an annual wellness work plan to include the following: –
  • Health education / awareness sessions one per month per client.
  • Health check-ups drives.
  • HIV / VCT drives.
  • Worksite ergonomic assessments.
  • Staff occupational health assessments to clients.
  • Safety awareness and sensitization program to clients.
  • Vaccinations / immunization drives.
  • Wellness capacity building; champions training, mental health, etc.
  • Plan and maintain appropriate holistic wellness program service schedules per client to maximize program efficiency.
  • Develop and implement digital wellness strategies that leverage mobile health platforms, wearable devices, and virtual wellness challenges to engage employees in healthy behaviors.
  • Stay abreast of AI-driven health tools and digital therapeutics that can personalize the wellness journey for employees.
  • Utilize technology, data analytics, and digital platforms to monitor and enhance wellness program effectiveness.
  • Innovate new program ideas (e.g., gamified wellness challenges, resilience and burnout prevention programs, sustainability-focused wellness activities) in response to evolving client needs and global health trends.

Data-Driven Wellness Implementation:

The Wellness Officer will employ advanced analytics and data-driven decision-making to continually refine programs for maximum impact. This will be achieved through the following tasks:

  • Develop and deliver total client population health risk management programs / services, while using the claims data and other relevant data to advise on the interventions to address health issues, e.g., CDM, WPP, PEP, Absence management, etc.
  • Develop and implement health promotion activities for the clients as per the planned wellness calendar and WHO calendar.
  • Implement cost-effective and cost control wellness practices & measures.
  • Exhaustive stakeholder engagement with both internal and external teams for successful delivery. These include but are not limited to Insurance Providers, Healthcare Service Providers, Case Management Teams, Marketing Teams etc.
  • Stay updated on global trends, innovative wellness solutions, and emerging health concerns to enhance the company’s wellness offerings.
  • Implement initiatives that move beyond traditional fitness programs to include mental health support (stress management workshops, mindfulness training, Employee Assistance Programs) and financial wellness resources (financial planning seminars, debt management and retirement readiness programs).
  • Coordinate seamlessly with wellness service providers to ensure high-quality program delivery.

Stakeholder Engagement & Program Uptake:

The Wellness Officer will cultivate partnerships and communication channels that encourage widespread participation and organizational support. This will be achieved through the following:

  • Collaborate with the client’s HR / administration to seamlessly integrate wellness into their business calendar and strategy.
  • Partner with assigned clients to scale up wellness program and solicits employee participation.
  • Build and manage a network of wellness champions within client organizations to foster ownership and sustainability of wellness programs.
  • Lead effective wellness communication campaigns to drive awareness and participation.
  • Plan and facilitate wellness and related health forums to corporate clients to include wellness training and seminars.
  • Roll out and scale up or increase the uptake of different wellness interventions programs e.g., EAP, WPP, CDM, etc.
  • Prepare reports and presentations on program impact, engagement levels, and recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Develop and roll out surveys to collect feedback and relevant data on employee’s health status and risks, wellness drives, activities and impact from users and clients.
  • Develop and maintain wellness database on activities, billings, external vendor’s payments, referrals to different programs, work plan etc.

  • Knowledge of and ability to use computers with Windows-based business software applications. For example: Power BI, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Publisher.
  • Familiarity with wearable health technology, telehealth solutions, and mobile wellness applications.
  • Skill in oral and written communication: Ability to draft, proof, and construct professional documents such as proposals, presentations and correspondence using contemporary business standards.
  • Teamwork: Ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with personnel, health providers and clients.
  • Effective organizational skills: Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects at the same time and adaptability to changing priorities to meet demands of business.

Professional and Academic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing, Clinical Officer, BSc Public Health / Community / Epidemiology

Risk Officer

Duties and Responsiblities

  • Follow up on last expense claims and ensure payment is done within 48 hours upon confirmation by the Client.
  • Monitor claim payments and generate various reports.
  • Respond to clients’ enquiries effectively and ensure timely resolution of all issues raised.
  • Follow up with Insurer for preparation of Discharge Vouchers and Payment of due claims.
  • Verify and ensure that all the accompanying documents for Life claims are attached and forwarded to Insurer for payment within 7 days of receipt.
  • Process critical illness and disability claims within the stipulated turnaround time.
  • Ensure all clients are served efficiently and effectively.
  • Ensure proper reports are prepared for teams based in the Counties as per agreed turnaround time.
